Min utgångspunkt i projektet har vart att koppla samman den nya byggnaden med de intilliggande kulturminnesmärkta kylhusen på ett tydligt sätt. Jag har valt att plocka upp valvformen som återkommer i alla byggnaderna. Min primärkonstruktion består av betongvalv och jag har gett dem högsta prioritet och full synlighet i min byggnad. Entréplanet har dubbel takhöjd, där hela valven blir synliga. Lika stora valv som i bottenplanet reses sedan ovanpå och bildar ytterligare två plan. De första av planen är luftigare där endast nedre delen av valven är synliga. Ovanför dessa blir det ett mer stängt plan där den övre delen av valvet blir synligt. Jag har ordnat alla de inre rummen emellan valven. Inga av de inre rummen täcker valven, varken i fasad eller i planen. Flödena i byggnaden blir då längs med fasaden och under valven vilket ger dem största möjliga uppmärksamhet. De inre rummen är konstruerade i trä för att tydliggöra skillnaden mellan de inre rummen och de bärande valven. De inre rummen ska upplevas lättare och valven tyngre. De inre rummens struktur skjuter sedan upp genom byggnaden och ger gestaltning och konstruktionsprincip till det översta planet. Fasaderna speglar även den bakomliggande stommen. I de nedre tre planen så kläs byggnaden in i fasadbetong samt på översta planet så kläs byggnaden in i trä. / My starting point in the project has been to connect the new building with the neighbouring cultural-minded cold stores in a distinct way. I have chosen to pick up the vault form that returns in all the buildings. My primary construction consists of concrete vaults and I have given them the highest priority and full visibility in my building. The entrance hall has double height, where the entire vault becomes visible. As large arches as in the bottom plane are then raised on top and form another two floors. The first floor is more open where only the lower part of the valve is visible. Above these, it becomes a more closed floor where the upper part of the vault becomes visible. I have arranged all the inner spaces between the vaults. None of the inner spaces cover the vault, either in the facade or in the plane. The flow in the building will then be along the façade and below the vault giving them the greatest possible attention. The inner spaces are constructed in wood to clarify the difference between the inner spaces and the supporting valves. The inner space is aiming to appear lighter and the valves heavier. The structure of the interior spaces then protrudes through the building and gives the design and construction principle to the top plane. The facades also reflect the underlying frame. In the lower three floors, the building is clad in the facade concrete and on the top level, the building is finished in wood.
