Detta examensarbete handlar om att aktivera hamnområdet intill Vadstena slott och väcka historien till liv genom att på nytt ge platsen en hamnpaviljong. Sedan 1850talet fram till för tio år sedan, har det under två perioder funnits en hamnpaviljong intill slottet och vallgraven. Den nya paviljongen bestående av restaurang, utställning, hamnfaciliteter och bastu, är baserad och inspirerad av platsens rika arkitektoniska omgivning och förflutna. Paviljongen är separerad till tre volymer men där ett skärmtak knyter dem tillsammans, skapar en spänning och möte mellan dem. De publika mellanrummen skyddar från väder och vind. Paviljongen underordnar sig slottet i storlek och uttryck och ska upplevas publik och tillgänglig i sin karaktär. Parkstråket har förlängts och leder igenom de två större volymerna, för att skapa ytterligare en publik känsla och öppning till platsen. / This thesis project is about activating the harbour area next to Vadstena Castle, and bringing history to life by creating a new harbour pavilion. Since the 1850s until ten years ago, there has during two periods been a harbour pavilion next to the castle and the ditch. The new pavilion containing restaurant, exhibition, harbour facilities and a sauna, has been based and inspired by the place’s rich architectural surroundings and past. The pavilion has been separated into three volumes, but where an outdoor roof connects them together, creates a collaboration and a meeting between them. The gaps in between the volumes protects from weather and wind. The pavilion subordinates itself to the castle in size, expression and color and is perceived accessible and public in its character. The park path has been extended and leads in through the two larger volumes for a public character and another opening to the site.
