Uppsatsen handlar om utilitaristiska och pliktetiska synsätt på dödshjälp i Nederländerna, Sverige, USA (Oregon) och Schweiz. Här belyses också vilka skillnader de finns mellan länderna. I de filosofiska teorierna behandlas både individ och samhällsperspektiv för att se om det är försvarbart att använda metoderna. Uppsatsen ser även på individens rätt i den palliativa vården. Anledningen till denna uppsats är att se vilken och om någon typ av dödshjälp funkar på ett bra sätt och kan tillämpas runt om i världen. Detta görs både genom moraliska och etiska synsätt och även utifrån utilitarism och pliktetik. Utifrån samhällsperspektiv och individuella preferenser jämförs de olika varianterna av dödshjälp. De filosofiska teorierna ihop med lagstiftningen om dödshjälp leder till slutsatsen hur man kan tänka och vad som behövs göras för att man ska komma längre i debatten om dödshjälp. / This essay contains utilitarian and duty ethics view on euthanasia in The Netherlands, Sweden, USA (Oregon) and Switzerland. This essay also compares differences in approach towards this each other. Regarding the philosophical theories both society and individual perspective is used to analyze if it's okay to use these methods in euthanasia. Why I write this essay is to see which type of euthanasia that works best and can be implanted in the society around the world. To see this both duty ethics and utilitarism is used and their perspective, what works and what doesn't. This comes up to the conclusion of how you have to think and what has to be done so that we can achieve something in this endless debate on euthanasia.
