Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att undersöka hur biståndshandläggare som verkar inom Socialtjänstlagen i Malmö stad skildrar äldre personers subjektiva upplevelser av oro, otrygghet och ensamhet i den ordinära bostaden. Vidare har vi utforskat hur biståndshandläggarna framställde sitt arbete med äldre personer som upplever oro, otrygghet och ensamhet. För att besvara frågeställningarna utfördes en kvalitativ intervjuundersökning för att få tillgång till detaljerade berättelser från informanterna. Det insamlade materialet bygger på intervjuer med sex biståndshandläggare som verkar inom Socialtjänstlagen som är yrkesverksamma inom Malmö stad. Resultatet från intervjuerna tematiserades i temana: avståndstagande, föreställningar och förbättringar. Vi använde oss av det teoretiska perspektivet narrativ vid analysen av intervjumaterialet. Undersökningen visade att flertalet informanter skildrade berättelser om hur äldre personer och samhället drar sig undan från varandra. Det framkom även upplevelser av föreställningar om äldre personer och deras känslor av oro, otrygghet och ensamhet. Slutligen framfördes det förslag på förbättringar för att minska känslor av oro, otrygghet och ensamhet bland äldre personer. Slutsatsen är att samtliga informanter i olika utsträckning benämnde och talade om känslor av oro, otrygghet och ensamhet utifrån sitt arbete och bland äldre personer, men upplevelserna skilde sig åt. / The purpose of this essay is to examine how social workers in the social services act in Malmö depict older people’s subjective experience of concern, insecurity and loneliness in the ordinary residence. Further on to explore how the social workers prepares their work with older people who experience concern, insecurity and loneliness. To answer these questions a qualitative interview survey was conducted to gain access to detailed stories from the informants. The collected material builds upon interviews with six social workers in the social services act, who are professionals in Malmö. The results from the interviews thematized in the themes: distancing, performances and improvement. We have used the theoretical perspective narrative for the analysis of the interview material. The survey showed that the majority of the informants depicted stories of how older people and society retreat from each other. The survey also showed experience of performances about older people and their experience of concern, insecurity and loneliness. Finally the survey showed suggestions on improvements to decrease feelings of concern, insecurity and loneliness. The conclusion is that all of the informants in different extent described and talked about feelings of concern, insecurity and loneliness based upon their work and amoung older people, but the experiences differentiated from one another.
