Sammanfattning Bakgrund: Antalet ensamkommande barn och ungdomar har ökat i Sverige och de flesta placeras på hem för vård eller boende (HVB-hem). Inga riktlinjer för hur måltiderna ska organiseras vid HVB-hem har hittats. Inspektionen för vård och omsorg skrev i en rapport att missnöje över maten på HVB-hem förekommer bland ensamkommande barn och ungdomar. Syfte: Syftet var dels att undersöka hur måltider organiseras för ensamkommande barn och ungdomar på HVB-‐hem i Sverige och dels utveckla den enkät som användes för framtida forskningsprojekt. Metod: En webbaserad enkät skickades ut till 101 slumpmässigt utvalda föreståndare vid HVB-hem i Sverige, av vilka 55 svarade. En intervju med en föreståndare som fyllt i enkäten genomfördes också. Data från enkäten presenterades med deskriptiv statistik och intervjun analyserades genom att identifiera övergripande teman. Resultat: Måltider tillagades i de flesta fall på HVB-hem, och i de fall där mat beställdes från extern leverantör var det vanligast att den kom från kommunal verksamhet eller catering. Personalen på HVB-hemmen ansvarade för planering och tillagning av måltider. Det var vanligt att barn och ungdomar involverades i planering och tillagning och drygt hälften av föreståndare tyckte att det var viktigt att ge barn och ungdomar inflytande över måltidssituationen. De flesta föreståndarna tyckte att frågor som berör mat i stort sett fungerar bra, men några föreståndare angav att det inte fungerar bra. I intervjun identifierades två teman, komplexitet i enkäten samt tydlighet. Slutsats: Resultaten visade att föreståndare i stort sett tycker att organisationen av måltider fungerar bra på HVB-hem, men det kunde förekomma problem med organisering av måltider. Mer forskning med större urval behövs för att undersöka om dessa resultat är representativa. / Abstract Background: An increase of unaccompanied children and adolescents has been seen in Sweden and most of them are placed in residential care homes (HVB-homes). There are no guidelines on how the meals should be organized at the HVB-homes. In a report from The Health and Social Care Inspectorate it was stated that complaints about food among the children and adolescents was common in HVB-‐homes. Method: A web-based questionnaire was sent to 101 randomly chosen HVB-homes in Sweden of which 55 directors answered. An interview was also made with a director who had answered the questionnaire. Data from the questionnaire was presented with descriptive statistics and the interview was analyzed by identifying overall themes. Result: Meals were in most cases prepared at the HVB-home, and if food came from an external company, it was most common to order from a municipality concern or from catering. The staff working at the home was responsible for planning and preparing the meals. It was also common that children and adolescents were involved in planning and preparing the food, and little over half of the directors thought it was important to involve them in the meal situation at the HVB-home. Most of the directors thought that food related situations worked well, but some indicated that food related situations did not work well. Two themes were identified in the interview, the complexity and the clarity of the questionnaire. Conclusion: The results pointed out that organizing meals in general worked well at HVB-homes, but problems related to the organization of meals could occur. Further research with larger sample is needed to examine if these results are representative.
