“100k följare innan det här året är slut” : En studie om strategierna för personlig marknadsföring inom sociala medier

We all have a personal brand, even if we are not aware of it. What we choose to work with and our hobbies define how we are perceived. Social media is a platform that allows us to become whoever we want. And we can attract a large amount of followers with the correct strategies. This essay is conducted through a qualitative study with the purpose to investigate the strategies behind successful profiles on instagram. We used semi-structured interviews to answer our question formulations: What strategies are used? How are the strategies used? What are the reasons behind the initiative? And how is the relationship to the followers? The study shows that a majority of the strategies on instagram require networking. The profiles help each other to grow by taking part in “likegroups” and through the “shoutout for shoutout” technique. We also found that the interactive users can have a large influence over the content.
