The present diploma thesis deals with the work of professional freight traffic drivers and is focused primarily on the requirements, which has to be fulfilled to become a professional driver. The theoretical part describes all of the requirements for the driver, as well as drivers operating modes and also compares the Regulation no. 561/2006 with AETR contractual agreement. An integral part of the work is a description of recording devices and possible checks of drivers and carriers. The second, practical part, deals with a survey among professional drivers focused primarily on their knowledge of the applicable regulations.
