The project has been done in cooperation with Schenker Åkeri AB in Sweden, Halmstad. The project is based on an inspection made by Arbetsmiljöverket, where they found minor shortcomings with distribution of goods for the employees. The project is an investigation of the drivers’ working environment. Schenker Logistics is one of the world's leading providers of integrated logistics services. Schenker Åkeri AB is a subsidiary to Schenker Logistics and transports 2.4 million tons of goods yearly. The project started with a background study to evaluate drivers working environment. We have studied goods receptions, the working environment, strain injury and injury mechanisms. Methods used was observations, tests, questionnaire surveys and ergonomic and biomechanical calculations. One result of the study is a working model, which gives recommendations for the maximum weight a driver should push and pull. A truck evaluation was done to exam the need for new technical equipment. An ergonomic investigation was done to investigate the drivers’ working tasks. A questionnaire was given to the drivers to evaluate their working environment and tasks. The questionnaire involved questions about stress, handling of goods and technical equipment. Together with Schenker Åkeri AB in Halmstad, an action plan was made. This action plan will be handed over to Arbetsmiljöverket by Schenker.

Holmkvist, Karin January 2014 (has links)
Karin Holmkvist (2014) Sleep, meals and physical activity among professional drivers during the day with work and spare time. Master’s thesis in health at work. University of Gävle. Night work and irregular work hours affects social and biological rhythms in activity, eating, sleep and metabolism. Researchshows how theworking conditions andworking hours affect professional drivers´ lifestyle and there is a negative impact on their health. The aim of this cross sectional study was to describe and compare living rhythms of professional drivers. Six drivers participated. Three driver´s had daytime work and three driver´s had shiftwork. Self report data on work hours, sleep, sleep quality, meal and meal frequency was collected by either a smartphone application or a paper correspondent diary. During the same period physical activity was measured by an activity meter attached to the leg. The results show that drivers on averageslept7hoursno matter workdayor spare time (non significant). The results indicatethat driversfelt they hadagoodsleep quality. The resultshows thatdriverseat different types of meals like breakfast, lunch, dinner or having a coffee on workdays and on spear time. The drivers have an averageof food intakes,2 times duringthe workingdayand2 times during spare time. The resultalso indicatesthat drivers eat fromthree food groups out ofseven. The results indicate that one meal achieved the plate model during work day and spear time. The drivers weremore sedentaryintheir absence(48 minutes /day)thanat work (34.5 minutes / day).Therewasno significant difference inphysical activitybetween workand spare time. Conclusion: Drivers slept equal during workday or spare day. Food habits can be improved by increased frequency and distribution during twenty-four hours. The physical activity is on a acceptable level but can be improved. It can be done by workplace subsidizes training card or by motivating individual health consultations regarding diet and exercise habits. This extension can lead to changes in professional operating environment such as education in diet and nutrition, sleep and physical activity. Keywords: Professional driver´s, sleep, food, physical activity / Karin Holmkvist (2014) Sömn, måltider och fysisk aktivitet hos yrkesförare under dygn med arbete och ledighet. Projektkurs arbetshälsovetenskap. Akademin för hälsa och arbetsliv. Högskolan i Gävle.

Profesionalių vairuotojų vertybinių orientacijų, įsipareigojimo organizacijai bei rizikingo vairavimo elgesio sąsajos / Professional drivers value orientations, commitment to the organization and risky driving behaviour interfaceArlauskienė, Renata 21 December 2009 (has links)
[toliau žr. visą tekstą] / Purpose of the survey - to assess the professional drivers' risky driving links with their value orientation and commitment to the organization.
The study included 160 professional drivers in Kaunas, Klaipėda, Telšiai, Pasvalys, Kaišiadoriai, Tauragė, Šilutė, Zarasai, Šilalė and Kretinga cities. Risky driving has been studied using Driving Conduct Questionnaire (DBQ), value orientations methodology of Value orientations study by M. M. Rokičius (Rokeach, 1972), commitment to the organization using Organizational commitment questionnaire (Yousef, 2003).
The results showed that risky driving of professional drivers is irrespective of their age, driving experience and marital status. Only found that professional drivers who have higher education, they are doing more small oversights on the road than others.
Professional drivers value orientations (both social and egocentric) are associated with their risky driving behaviour. The more professional driver maximizes the social values the less he is inclined to risky driving (makes less driving significant errors and intentional violations). The more also a professional driver maximizes the egocentric values, the less risky driving he makes (makes less minor oversights, driving significant errors and intentional violations). Professional drivers’ undertaking the organization is not related to socio-demographic factors (age, education, marital status, driving and seniority). However, the less the driver has committed to a... [to full text]
