[pt] João Pedro Ribeiro é um dos eruditos que realizam a tarefa proposta pela Academia Real de Ciências de Lisboa para a preparação do terreno para uma escrita da história do reino português na passagem do século XVIII para o XIX. Percorre cartórios e mosteiros em busca de documentos que fossem úteis a tal iniciativa, operando um balizamento do que pretendia para os trabalhos de cunho histórico posteriores. Minha dissertação trabalha a Ilustração portuguesa e a formação que possibilita o surgimento deste projeto como ideal. Em outro momento, discuto a importância que o conceito de história ganha a partir da segunda metade do século XVIII, assim como as mudanças ocorridas com este. Meu trabalho ainda enfatiza as tensões e disputas em torno de uma memória disciplinar que canoniza a obra de Ribeiro como pioneira para a diplomática e paleografia lusitanas. / [en] João Pedro Ribeiro is one of the scholars that perform the labor proposed by the Sciences Academy of Lisbon to prepare the written of a Portuguese history between the Eighteenth Century and the Nineteenth Century. He searches and chooses documents which he judges necessary for this task, guiding the later historical works. I also work with the Portuguese Enlightenment and the formation that makes this kind of project possible. Then, I discuss the growing importance of the concept of history since the second half of the Eighteenth Century, as well as the occurrence of changes in this concept. My work also lays emphasis on the disputes about a disciplinary memory that chooses Ribeiro as the pioneer and precursor for Portuguese diplomatics and paleography.
