[pt] Pernambuco desponta, hoje, como um dos principais polos
cinematográficos do país em termos quantitativos, destacando-se ainda pela
qualidade da produção, reconhecida internacionalmente em festivais e pela
imprensa especializada. Tal preponderância, contudo, surpreende diante da
posição periférica ocupada pelo estado no cenário nacional. O objetivo desse
trabalho é justamente buscar elementos para a compreensão do fenômeno na
análise histórica, identificando os agentes e as dinâmicas que contribuíram no
longo processo de estruturação do campo cinematográfico em Pernambuco e
deram origem a uma sólida tradição fílmica. / [en] The Pernambuco state is one of the main cinema producers in Brazil,
standing also for the high quality of its movies, internationally recognized by film
critics and festivals. This status, however, surprises when one take into account
the state s minor position within the Brazilian Federation. The main goal of this
research is to understand the phenomenon through the historical analysis of film
production in Pernambuco, pointing the agents and the dynamics responsible for
the state s cinema field building.
