Nous sommes d’abord frappés par l’originalité de Michel Tournier. Ses ouvrages se réfèrent constamment aux formes classiques et y trouvent de nouveaux sens au service du temps moderne. Selon la critique littéraire, c’est un heureux mariage entre la littérature et la philosophie. Toutes les nouvelles significations qui se déroulent de ses livres, résultent d’une métaphysique que cultive Tournier à la différence des autres écrivains. Nous nous intéressons l’exploration des idées métaphysiques et philosophiques dans ses ouvrages. Un tel désir nous permet de trouver des conceptions d’au-delà, de transcendance et d’absolu dans l’illustration de la métaphysique tourniérienne. Au commencement, le sens du sacré est inséparable de l’expérience et de l’institution religieuses, mais, dans un temps moderne, au-delà de l’ancienne définition, le sacré tourniérien se charge d’une connotation pleine de variations. Il se manifeste comme une autre réalité, différente de la réalité humaine; il s’invente comme des transcendances en dépassant les frontières de la condition humaine; il n’exclut pas l’aspiration humaine à l’absolu. C’est une nouvelle forme de sacré proposée au temps contemporain. Les métamorphoses imaginaires, les sensations révélatrices, les réflexions profondes et les références au mythe et à la religion, qui sont omniprésentes dans les ouvrages de Tournier, épousent cette nouvelle définition du sacré. Elles nous amènent ainsi à une nouvelle dimension du sacré.Comme approche théorique, nous utilisons la méthodologie de l’analyse textuelle en considérant les quatre romans de Tournier comme corpus principaux : Vendredi ou les limbes du Pacifique, Le Roi des Aulnes, Gaspard, Melchior et Balthazar et Eléazar ou la Source et le Buisson. Et nous appliquons la thématique, soutenue par un regard de comparaison dont l’essentiel est de proposer un éclairage dans la perspective d’une autre pensée ou culture. Au premier chapitre, nous nous appuyons sur la méthode de Lanson pour cerner les œuvres de Tournier et interroger ses relations avec les autres écrivains et avec l’époque. En nous référant aux grandes inspirations que l’écrivain porte dans ses ouvrages, notre recherche s’oriente sur deux voies principales : la religion et la métaphysique. Ainsi, ces deux approches composent deux chapitres fondamentaux de notre thèse, elles reflètent de façon éminente la tentation du sacré dans le parcours romanesque de Tournier. / We are first hit by the originality of Michel Tournier. His writings constantly refer to classical forms and they find new meaning in the service of modern times. According to literary critic, it is a successful marriage between literature and philosophy. All new meanings that unfold from his books, result in a metaphysics that cultivated by Tournier are totally different from other writers. We are interested in exploring the metaphysical and philosophical ideas in his works. Such a desire allows us to find conceptions beyond, transcendence and absoluteness in the illustration of tourniérienne metaphysics.From the very beginning, the sense of the sacred is inseparable from the experience and the religious institution, but in modern times, beyond the ancient definition, the sacred of Tournier is full of connotations with lots of variations. It manifests itself as another reality which is different from human reality; it invents as itself transcendence beyond the borders of the human condition; it does not exclude human aspirations to the absolute. This is a new holy form proposed for contemporary times. The imaginary metamorphoses, the sensor revelations, the deep thoughts and the references to myth and religion, which are ubiquitous in the writings of Tournier, espouse this new definition of the sanctity. Thus, they lead us to a new dimension of the sacred.As a theoretical approach, we use the methodology of textual analysis by considering the four novels of Tournier as the main corpus Vendredi ou les limbes du Pacifique, Le Roi des Aulnes, Gaspard, Melchior et Balthazar et Eléazar ou la Source et le Buisson. And we apply the theme method, supported by an angle of comparison for which the essential is to propose a better understanding in the perspective of another thought or culture.In the first chapter, we rely on the method of Lanson to identify the works of Tournier and examine his relationships with other writers and with the epoch. With reference to the main inspirations that the writer carries in his works, our research focuses on two main paths: religion and metaphysics. Thus, these two approaches compose two key chapters of our thesis, they reflect eminently, the temptation of the sacred in the romantic journey of Tournier.
