Esta dissertação propõe uma reflexão sobre as construções textuais de Ópera dos mortos de Autran Dourado, conciliando a análise estética e sociológica, tendo em vista as relações sociais representadas na narrativa. O estudo foi construído a partir da análise da importância atribuída à moradia dos Honório Cota para a configuração do seu poder na cidade de Duas Pontes e a partir da análise das relações estabelecidas entre o povo da cidade com Rosalina, levando-se em consideração os valores da sociedade patriarcal do final do século XIX e início do século XX, período dos fatos narrativos. Através da recorrência, tão presente na construção textual, são enfatizadas as relações sociais petrificadas e a posição de submissão à qual está submetida a figura feminina no patriarcalismo, que insiste em se conservar / This dissertation intends a reflection on the Ópera dos mortos textual construction by Autran Dourado, joining the esthetical and sociological analyse, concerning social relations represented in the narrative. The study was built up through the analyse of the importance attributed to Honórios Cotas manor to the configuration of their power in Duas Pontes city and through the settled relantions between the people of the city with Rosalina, taking into consideration the values of patriarcal society of the end of the century XIX and the begining of the century XX. Through the recurrence, so present in the textual construction, are emphatized the petrified social relations and the submission position which is subjugated the female figure into the patriarchy, insisted on conserving itself
