The are based on twoHamilton-Jacobi inequalities which are, for system, reduced to two stadard Riccati inequalities recongnized linear H.inf. ovided. In the linear case, these Solutions become the family of suboptimal controllers parametrized by stable with H.inf. norms than one.

碩士 / 東海大學 / 應用數學研究所 / 81 / In the last decade, work in linear programming (LP) can be distinguished into two classes;(1) potential or objective function driven discrete steps algorithm such as Karmarkar-type algorithm and the affine-scaling variant, and (2) path- following algorithm such as primal-dual interior point method. We also describe a method, the PTIE method, that bases on the Karmarkar's projective algorithm and the interior point method to solve the LP problems with O(Ln^4) complexity. Moreover, this method can be extended to solve the linear constraints and convex quadratic objective function programming problems (CQP), and its behavior performs similar to the process in the LP problems. Furthermore, it can be used to solve the nonconvex quadratic programming (QP) problems by solving a transformed problem which constrained a unit sphere. In this paper we develop a method based on the simplex method, the Karmarkar's method, and the affine scaling method to solve LP problems with $O(Ln^5)$ complexity. For the practical efficiency, we derive some properties which are important on the applications. Moreover, this method is believed to be competitive with the simplex method.

碩士 / 東海大學 / 應用數學研究所 / 81 / A variation approach is applied to derive the simple state space formulae for all controllers solving a standard H .inf. control problem:find all stabilizing controllers such that the H .inf. norm of the closed-loop transfer function is strictly than 1. The same as LQG theory, a controller with separation property exists if and only if the unique stabilizing solutions to two algebraic Riccati equations are positive definite, and the difference of these two solutions is postive definite,too. Under these conditions, a family of stabilizing controllers which satisfy the same conditions in standard H .inf. control problem can be found.

碩士 / 淡江大學 / 西洋語文研究所 / 81 / After Emerson delievered his "The Divinity School Address" in which the metaphysical meaning of morality has greatly propagated, Transcendentalism is no more socially isolated and purly intuitive. The benevolence in social practice becomes an issue that Emerson concerned most. The thesis attempts to reveal the benovelent connotation of Transcendentalism in Hawthorne's literature through the study of the blackness in his major stories. In the first chapter, a brief introduction of the suffering caused by social blackness is proposed. Theond chapter deals with the trouble and strifes on politics, religion, and intellect that Hawthorne presents in some of his short stories, and then the blackness introduces the possibility of emancipation. It is followed by an exploration of the emancipation from suffering of the blackness through a analytic study of Ethan Brand, Arthur Dimmesdale, and Hester Prynne in the Chapter Three. At last, I conclude by a demonstration of Hawthorne's relation to Transcendentalism with a discussion of the viewpoints of Matthiessen.
