Překladač Ruby do PHP / Translating Ruby to PHP

Majda, David January 2008 (has links)
The goal of the work is to design and implement a compiler translating a signi cant subset of the Ruby language into PHP, with emphasis on the correct translation of dynamic and functional language elements and compatibility with the original Ruby language implementation. The work begins with an introduction of the Ruby language and an overview of its existing implementations, highlighting their interesting properties. The work then focuses on analysis of the individual language elements' properties and a description of their translation to PHP. Detailed overview of the implemented constructs and standard library elements is attached. The result of the work is practically usable compiler that can be further extended and used in the production environment after implementing remaining Ruby language elements.

Deployment aplikací v PHP / Deployment of applications in PHP

Zikmund, Štěpán January 2010 (has links)
This work deals with automated deployment of web appliactions in PHP. There is not any wide used standard tool for deploying of web application wrote in PHP. That is way the main objective of work is to create automated and universal solution which can be used for application with various database systems or frameworks. For purpose of design this tool I describe at the beginning of this work individual components of web application. It is source code of application, HTML templates and CSS, grafic files, data and database schema. Next I write about posibilities of uploading application to server. This chapter is based on Sharar Evron's talk at conference ZendCon 2010 named Best Practices in PHP deployment. For individual components of application I try to find specific steps which are necessary or usefull to do during application deployment. It is e.g. JavaScript and CSS files minification, database schema modification or secure data injecting in application's configuration files. In fourth and fifth chapter I write about implementation of these steps and connection them in process of application deployment and rollback. For this implementation I use tool Phing.

Evaluation and comparison of search engines

Mtshontshi, Lindiwe 12 1900 (has links)
Thesis (MPhil)--Stellenbosch University, 2004. / ENGLISH ABSTRACT: A growing body of studies is developing approaches to evaluate human interaction with Web search engines. Measuring the information retrieval effectiveness of World Wide Web search engines is costly because of the human relevance judgements involved. However, both for business enterprises and people it is important to know the most effective Web search engine, since such search engines help their users find a higher number of relevant Web pages with less effort. Furthermore, this information can be used for several practical purposes. This study does not attempt to describe all the currently available search engines, but provides a comparison of some, which are deemed to be among the most useful. It concentrates on search engines and their characteristics only. The goal is to help a new user get the most useful "hits" when using the various tools.

Andersson, Mikael, Nykvist, Conny January 2006 (has links)
This bachelor’s report is based upon an assignment specified by the company IT Resource AB, located in Årjäng Värmland.</p><p>The goal of this bachelor’s project was to create an API to extend the functionality of PHP. The API shall simplify and make the work more efficient for IT Resource AB when developing web applications. The simplification and the increased efficiency that the API offers are the possibilities to reuse and easily add new functions to the API when needed.</p><p>The functionality that the API will offer is an enhanced capability to handle variables and strings generated from a web page written in PHP. The enhanced capability refers to the possibility to store variables and strings from a web page written in PHP.</p><p>The API created consists of 2 parts, a client and a server. The client in the client/server system is an external module which contains the functionality for the communication with both PHP and the server. This means that the client in the client/server system will act as an interface between PHP and the server.</p><p>The implementation of the API’s functionality is found in the server part of the client/server system. The functionality implemented in the server is the possibility to store variables and strings in the main memory.</p><p>The result of this project is an API that increases the functionality of PHP. The API can, when needed, be extended further, and IT Resource AB can benefit from using it when developing web applications that make use of PHP.</p>
