With the disappearing of the Sete Quedas a discussion about the decreasing of the economy of Guaíra started, however the city broadened the horizon of economical possibilities, reflecting also in new space forms. The economy of erva mate in Guaíra will be the precursory of a space organization which will constitute defining elements of the landscape, considering its productive characteristics. The end of the Sete Quedass represented two great impacts, environmental and the economical. The environmental by the intervention of the man in the nature, and the economical by the dismantling of the tourist attractions and the loss of great portions of cultivating area. The guidelines of the reorganization of the space were defined by Directive Plans and in part by the movement of the society with its new demands. So, it was considered necessary, apart from the observations and the analysis of the new space forms, make an analysis of the economical indicators of the city. This analyze demonstrated that in spite of the lament by the loss of the tourist attraction, Guaíra found an new economic matrix and present results more vigorous than in the past. Practically all the areas of activity, with few exceptions, showed development, as well as the number of people in the formal work market, the number of commercial places, the city GDP and the GDP per capita of the city. According to the space transformations the new regionalization has its highlights which has been shown because of the formation of the Itaipu Lake, as well as the Council of the Cities Bordering the Lake of Itaipu, the so Calling of West Coast and the Corridor of Biodiversity. It is also shown the importance of Guaíra in the Mesoregion of the West of Paraná, the integration with the cities of Mato Grosso do Sul as well as the cities of the southeast of Paraguay. The expansion of the Ferroeste Railroad, passing by Guaíra, strengths the city and , that from, Seven Falls only will be kept in the memory by its natural beauties. / O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar a organização e a reorganização do espaço geográfico do município de Guaíra - PR relacionado com o desaparecimento das Sete Quedas, outubro de 1982. Com o desaparecimento das Sete Quedas abriu-se uma discussão sobre a bancarrota da economia de Guaíra, entretanto, o município ampliou o horizonte de possibilidades econômicas, refletindo também em novas formas espaciais. A economia da erva mate em Guaíra será a precursora de uma organização espacial que constituirá elementos definidores da paisagem, considerando as suas características produtivas. O fim das Sete Quedas representaram dois grandes impactos, o ambiental e o econômico. O ambiental pela intervenção do homem na natureza e o econômico pelo desmantelamento da atividade turística e a perda de grandes porções de terras agricultáveis. As diretrizes da reorganização do espaço definiram-se por Planos Diretores, e em parte, pelo movimento da sociedade com suas novas demandas. Assim, considerou-se necessário, além das observações e análise das novas formas espaciais, fazer uma análise dos indicadores econômicos do município. Esta análise demonstrou que apesar das lamentações pela perda do atrativo turístico, Guaíra encontrou uma nova matriz econômica e apresenta resultados mais vigorosos que no passado. Praticamente todos os ramos de atividade, com poucas exceções, apresentaram crescimento, bem como o número de pessoas no mercado formal de trabalho, o número de estabelecimentos comerciais, o PIB municipal e o PIB per Capita do município. Quanto às transformações espaciais, destacam-se as novas regionalizações que se apresentam em decorrência da formação do Lago de Itaipu, como o Conselho dos Municípios Lindeiros ao Lago de Itaipu, a chamada Costa Oeste e o Corredor da Biodiversidade. Também se evidencia a importância de Guaíra na Mesoregião Oeste Paranaense, a integração com os municípios do Estado do Mato Grosso do Sul e com municípios do sudeste paraguaio. A expansão da ferrovia Ferroeste, passando por Guaíra, fortalece a pujança do município e, que, das Sete Quedas se guardará apenas a memória de suas belezas naturais.
