Automatická detekce srdečních patologií pomocí vysokofrekvenčních složek komplexu QRS / Automatic detection of heart pathologies using high-frequency components of QRS complex

Daňová, Ľudmila January 2020 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to analyse high-frequency ECG to detect some heart diseases. This is performed with averaging of selected QRS complexes for each lead of the signal; these are thenfilteredin range 500-1 000 Hz. After that the envelope of the signal is done and here the peaks are detected. Based on mutual positions of this peaks, it is possible to detectwhat kind od signal we treat.

Reciprocal transnational caring : experiences of the aged and their emigrated children

Venter, Irene C. January 2018 (has links)
Globalisation is increasing and influences the families that emigrate as well as those that stay behind. In South Africa the left behind aged parents of adult children who emigrated experience a sense of helplessness as they feel that they have raised children who abandoned them when they relocated to other parts of the world due to push and pull factors. They also feel that they are missing the experiences of being part of their grandchildren’s lives. Emigration of adult children disrupts the normal functioning of the family for the emigrants as well as those left behind. The reciprocal caring becomes difficult and complicated. The aim of the study was to explore and describe reciprocal transnational caring as it was experienced by aged parents in a selected retirement village in South Africa and their emigrated children. Descriptive phenomenological research was done where scheduled interviews were used with informed consent to obtain data from the 23 selected participants in a retirement village and their emigrated children abroad. Interviews were carefully recorded and transcribed where after the gathered data was used to identify the essence and supporting constituents of the phenomenon. The essence and constituents were thoroughly described and a literature study was done of existing material to integrate the findings of the phenomenon. The findings revealed the essence as “We do love and care, but we can’t touch and hug”, and the supporting constituents: “We are as involved as we can”, “We live a dual life”, “The grandchildren outgrow the grandparents”, “Technology makes it much easier”, “They have a future as ‘world citizens’” and “Financially we are independent” were identified. / Dissertation (MCur)--University of Pretoria, 2018. / Nursing Science / MCur / Unrestricted

Power Graphs of Quasigroups

Walker, DayVon L. 26 June 2019 (has links)
We investigate power graphs of quasigroups. The power graph of a quasigroup takes the elements of the quasigroup as its vertices, and there is an edge from one element to a second distinct element when the second is a left power of the first. We first compute the power graphs of small quasigroups (up to four elements). Next we describe quasigroups whose power graphs are directed paths, directed cycles, in-stars, out-stars, and empty. We do so by specifying partial Cayley tables, which cannot always be completed in small examples. We then consider sinks in the power graph of a quasigroup, as subquasigroups give rise to sinks. We show that certain structures cannot occur as sinks in the power graph of a quasigroup. More generally, we show that certain highly connected substructures must have edges leading out of the substructure. We briefly comment on power graphs of Bol loops.

Prävalenz und klinische Bedeutung des koronaren Linksversorgungstyps bei Patienten mit valvulärer Aortenklappenstenose

Harzendorf, Christina Julia 22 May 2014 (has links)

Vývoj metodiky psaní levou rukou a přístup pedagogů k levorukým žákům / Development of the Methodology of Left-hander's Writing and Teacher's Attitude toward Left-handed Children

Hradecká, Lucie January 2017 (has links)
The thesis follows the development of the methodology of left-handers's writing, teacher's usage of the knowledge of methodology in a practice, researching the materials aimed in left- handness dedicated to teachers and parents, describing statements and opinions of the concrete primary teachers on left-hander's methodology. The thesis consists of the theoretical part and the empiric part. In the therotical part there are defined terms laterality and dominance, the development of the methodology of left-hander's writing since the year 1967 when this type of writing was legalised in the Czech Republic. The possibilities of getting information about the problematic of left-handness are summed, including books and trainings for primary school teachers. Finally, available equipment for left-handers is introduced. The research combines two methods - questionnaire and interview. The quantitative research is supposed to come up with the concrete percentage of left-handed pupils and with the general knowledge of teachers connected with methodology of left-hander's writing. The qualitative research was made by the form of interiewing teachers and Ivo Vodička. The aim of the thesis is to find out the way how to train teachers effectively based on researched information. Reversibility of severe mitral valve regurgitation after left ventricular assist device implantation single-centre observations from a real-life population of patients

Dobrovie, Monica 09 June 2020 (has links)
This study evaluates the impact of untreated preoperative severe mitral valve regurgitation (MR) on outcomes after left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation. Of the 234 patients who received LVAD therapy in the Heart Center Leipzig during a 6-year period, we selected those who had echocardiographic images of good quality and excluded those who underwent mitral valve replacement prior to or mitral valve repair during LVAD placement. The 128 patients selected were divided into 2 groups: Group A with severe MR (n = 65) and Group B with none to moderate MR (n = 63, 28 with moderate MR). We evaluated transthoracic echocardiography preoperatively [15 (7–28) days before LVAD implantation; median (interquartile range)] and postoperatively up to the last available follow-up [501 (283–848) days after LVAD]. We collected mortality, complications and clinical status indicators of the patient cohort. We observed a significant decrease in the severity of MR after LVAD implantation (severe MR 51% pre- vs 6% post-LVAD implantation, P < 0.001). There was no difference between groups in terms of right heart failure, rate of urgent heart transplantation, pump thrombosis or ventricular arrhythmias. There was no difference in 1-year survival and 3-year survival (87.7% vs 88.4% and 71.8% vs 66.6% for Groups A and B, respectively, P = 0.97). We concluded that preoperative severe MR resolves in the majority of patients early on after LVAD implantation and is not associated with worse clinical outcomes or intermediate-term survival.:Inhaltsverzeichnis Abkürzungsverzeichnis 3 1. Neúspěch nové levice v USA na příkladu SDS / The failure of the New Left in the US: the case of SDS

Vítek, Tomáš January 2016 (has links)
This thesis The Failure of the New Left in the US: The Case of SDS analyzes the causes and reasons of the failure of the New Left in the United States. The left-leaning students who were discontent with the social order and reality of the country gathered under the idea of participatory democracy in a group called Students for a Democratic Society. Their aim was to change and improve the system through universities being agents of social change, thus making a clear difference with the Old Left. The worker no longer stood in the center of social progress, but the student did. SDS promptly plunged into several burning issues of the era, such as civil rights movement and inferior position of the blacks and poor in the society. The Vietnam War and antiwar protest movement have also been great issues in which SDSers directed their energy. As the Vietnam War escalated in terms of American soldiers being sent overseas, the intensity of student protests grew as well. Inevitably SDS resorted to usage of violent means of expressing dissent and clashed with the forces of the establishment. The thesis seeks to answer what reasons, events and realities led them to finally adopting revolutionary Marxism as their flag ideology. Soon after that SDS broke up and its once great influence waned away.

Americká levice a komunistické Československo, 1956-1968 / The American Left and Communist Czechoslovakia, 1956-1968

Géryk, Jan January 2017 (has links)
The main aim of this work is to compare the discourses and analyze the relations of the American and Czechoslovak intellectual Left between 1956 and 1968. It begins by Khrushchev's revelation of Stalinist crimes and by the Soviet invasion of Hungary in 1956 which created an atmosphere of disillusionment on the Left. The global Left of this period to a substantial extent ceased to be ideologically inspired by the Soviet Union and began to rethink the foundations of its thought. So, the 1960s are the period of the flourishing leftist thought. Authors are inspired by Marxist humanism and the New Left emerges, especially in the West. There were issues which existed beyond the ideological struggle of two Cold War blocs, but the different character of the regimes in the East and the West resulted in different approaches to these issues. At the same time, the mobility of ideas and their authors or supporters increased even across the Iron Curtain. Therefore, we could see some interesting encounters and clashes of different, even though still leftist, discourses. This work tries to depict the intellectual environment of the period by dealing with issues like philosophy of Man in the context of technological changes, the tactics of the struggle against the system or bureaucracy, the relation of...
