The topic of this diploma work is based on a specific assignment and needs of the company owner. The goal of the work is to conduct a strategic analysis of the company Rybářství Nové Hrady s. r. o. using external and internal analysis. Primary focus is concentrated on a comparative analysis, financial indicators of the company Rybářství Nové Hrady s. r. o. are compared with the indicators of a sister company Rybářství Kardašova Řečice s. r. o. The main emphasis is put on the information value of the ratio indicators and explanation of the reasons for reaching such values. Based on the acquired information, the economic situation of these companies is compared.

The goal of the graduation thesis is an attempt to extend to all the persons interested in entrepreneurship in Mexico current information concerning this issue. Preamble of the work constitutes a brief characteristics of the country including a short historical review. A fundamental chapter of the thesis is dedicated to the business ambient follows. Its specificity have been analysed on the basis of two different methods - PEST method and SWOT method. Further, there are surveyed promising sectors of the Mexican economy in light of investment and foreign trade and all that with respect to the opportunities for the Czech business corporations. A separate chapter is dedicated to the process of entrepreneur's penetration the Mexican market and its terms. The graduation thesis is also focused on characteristics of particular institutions engaged in the field of foreign trade and investment which can give an advisory opinion or help to the clients. A part of the work is also a list of contact addresses of the entities mentioned in the thesis. Closing chapter presents concrete subvention examples of the Czech corporations export activities.

SIDAT spol. s r.o. is a very prosperous company in the field of automation and industrial informatics. Like any business, even SIDAT needs to use for its further growth communication tools that would help to extend company activities and become a leader in its field. My diploma thesis objectives were to propose such a strategy based on the analysis that would help the company to get into greater awareness, to ensure company success in the field of automation and industrial informatics and become a leader not only in Czech, but also on the European market. To achieve the objectives I have made a thorough analysis of existing marketing activities. I have evaluated opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses of the comapny using SWOT analysis. Based on the results I have selected the appropriate marketing activities considering company size and activities in the field of automation and informatics as a part of B2B segment. In conclusion I have set activities schedule and proposed budget.

Information was drawn from the company internal sources (the final accounts, the financial balance-sheets, price lists etc.), basic literature and the Internet. Obtained information help the company to decisively influence the company activities due to the planned expansion to Hungary and adopt new measures.

Densification beyond city centres : A socioeconomic investigation of the densification process in Lundby, Gothenburg

Contemporary urban planning for the past decades has concentrated on sustainable development, for instance through the promotion of dense development (Echenique et al., 2012). Important components for sustainable urban development concerns increasing residential and building density, as means of counteracting the consequences of urban sprawl (Jenks and Jones, 2008). Because it is argued that high-residential density is more economically, environmentally and socially sustainable than low-density since a higher concentration of people contributes to for instance shorter transportation distances as well as makes services and amenities more economically viable  (Frey, 1999; Haughton and Hunter, 2004). However, whether the densification of cities has desirable or undesirable social, economic and ecological impacts is highly contested. The purpose of this study is to analyze the socioeconomic outcomes of the urban densification process in the Lundby District, Gothenburg, over time. Through a mixed method approach, statistical information for Lundby District, for the years 2008 to 2015 have been processed and two semi-structured interviews with employees in the City Planning Authority and Lundby District Administration were conducted. The densification in Lundby presents certain strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. As more than 6300 new housing units has been constructed during this time-period, and more is to come in the near future, Lundby experienced a repopulation as the housing construction has facilitate a population increase of more than 11 000 new inhabitants. However, as the favored tenure developed during this time-period been condominiums certain weaknesses exist. Nonetheless, densification and the rapid increase in population has contributed to the number of vehicle per 100 inhabitants decreasing, which presents opportunities for being more environmentally friendly. On the other hand the claim that through densification could diversity and social mixing be achieved is flawed, as seen in Lundby the densification process has brought changes in population structure and socioeconomic characteristics, which suggest some form of gentrification is occurring.

The thesis aims to analyze the current state of the company while formulating and recommending a new, more preferable strategy. The dissertation is divided into a theoretical and a practical section. The first section explains theoretically the basic concepts of strategic management and analyzes of internal and external environment. The conclusion of the theoretical section describes different types of strategies and their suitability of use. In the practical section, some selected analyzes from the theoretical part are applied to a particular company Tomos Prague a. s., which is engaged in printing, bookmaking and cardboard production. Outputs from the analyzes are then entered into the SWOT analysis. Based on the evaluation of the SWOT analysis, appropriate strategies are formulated and recommended.
