[pt] Esta tese de doutorado se propõe a analisar as relações de negociação e conflito travadas entre agentes diversos do movimento funk, da mídia empresarial e do Estado ao longo da última década do século XX. Por meio de matérias veículadas pela imprensa, das letras e dos depoimentos dos próprios funkeiros e dos registros produzidos por distintos representantes do poder público busca-se discutir as estratégias utilizadas pelos adeptos dos funk para se afirmar nos principais canais midiáticos, assim como a reação de diferentes setores do Estado às formas de mobilização e de expressão cultural por eles representada. Essas relações, longe de comporem uma trajetória uniforme e linear, desvelam um intrincado processo no qual se cruzavam fluxos culturais, interesses de classe, formações estéticas e práticas repressivas diversas através das quais é possível identificar os movimentos de negociação e enfrentamento adotados pelas personagens elencadas. Espera-se, com isso, compreender como tais dinâmicas impactaram na produção de funk e nos formatos dos bailes. Paralelamente, pretende-se avaliar de que maneira essa manifestação cultural permite entrever as tensões sociais e os movimentos de trocas simbólicas que ocorriam num contexto de redemocratização e de consolidação do neoliberalismo. / [en] This doctoral dissertation aims to analyze the relations between multiple agents of the funk movement, the business media and the state, which unfolded in the last decade of the twentieth century, encompassing two dimensions: negotiation and conflict. Examining newspaper s articles and documents produced by the funkeiros, by state institutions and representatives of different public authorities, we seek to discuss the strategies developed by the funkeiros to inscribe their discourses and their worldviews in the mainstream media, as well as the reactions of different sectors of the state to the forms of mobilization and cultural expression guided by the funkeiros. These relations, far from composing a uniform and linear trajectory, unveil an intricate scenario of cultural flows, class interests, aesthetic forms, negotiation channels and repressive practices through which it is possible to identify the negotiation and confrontation movements adopted by the listed characters and to understand how these dynamics impacted the production of funk and the formats of the balls. At the same time, we intend to evaluate how this cultural manifestation allows one to glimpse the social tensions and movements of symbolic exchanges that occurred in a context of redemocratization and consolidation of neoliberalism.
