[pt] Os desafios sócio-culturais e religiosos do contexto urbano hodierno requerem uma revisão teológica da ação pastoral da Igreja católica. A fragmentação do universo religioso brasileiro marca as lógicas de ação e a prática religiosa nos diversos perfis de catolicismo. De um lado, temos o imperativo do subjetivismo; e, de outro, uma pastoral ainda pré-urbana, que se apresentam como desafios para responder às demandas deste contexto. Nossa dissertação busca redescobrir a Iniciação Cristã de Adultos e o seu potencial evangelizador. Partimos da hipótese de que se redescobrirmos o caráter primordial do catecumenato como função essencial da Igreja e, se redescobrirmos uma iniciação e re-iniciação da fé cristã de adultos, pautada em um relacionamento pessoal e permanente, tendo como referência o Reino e a prática da justiça, teremos daí um novo modelo eclesial que poderá revigorar toda a vida da Igreja em nossos tempos. Nossa tese fundamental é que, se não muda a Igreja, não muda a catequese e vice-versa. Somente uma catequese com adultos pode ajudar a fazer nascer uma Igreja adulta. Acreditamos que o Ritual da Iniciação Cristã de Adultos (RICA) é um instrumento privilegiado da Igreja para auxiliar àqueles e àquelas que chegam, ou que retornam, a mergulhar na totalidade do mistério pascal de Cristo, por meio da globalidade da experiência pastoral que envolve (bíblica, litúrgica, comunitária, pastoral e solidária). Por fim, afirmamos que a Igreja é o ambiente definitivo onde este encontro e reencontro com Cristo pode ser realizado. / [en] The sociocultural and religious challenges in our present day urban context require a theological revision in the Catholic Church s pastoral action. The fragmentation of the Brazilian religious universe has marked the logic of action and religious practice in different branches of Catholicism. On the one hand, we may find the imperative of subjectivism; on the other hand, a pre-urban pastoral. Both of them are posed as challenges to meet the demands of this context. This dissertation aims at redescovering the adults Christian initiation and its potential for evangelization. It departs from the principle that if we rediscover the fundamentals of the catecumenate as an essential function of the Church and, if we discover both an initiation and reinitiation of adults Christian faith based on a permanent personal contact as reference to the Kingdom and justice, we will then have a new ecclesiastic paradigm to revitalize the Catholic Church in our times. The main point in this work is to show that if the Church does not change, the catechism will not change and vice versa. The adult catechize is the only way to help with the rebirth of an adult Church. We also believe that the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adult s (RCIA) is a privileged instrument of the Church as it helps those who come or return to Live Christ s Pascal Ministry by means of the pastoral experience it involves − biblical, liturgical, communitarian, pastoral and solidarian. Finally, we can affirm that the Church is definitely the environment where the coming and return to Christ may come true.

[pt] A partir do Concílio Vaticano II e, particularmente, a partir do decreto Optatam Totius, foi pedida uma renovação da Teologia Moral segundo três orientações fundamentais: o resgate da tradição bíblica, o acento na História da Salvação e o vínculo com a Liturgia. Tal renovação se faz urgente e necessária face aos inúmeros desafios para se tratar teologicamente do tema da sexualidade na pós-modernidade. É por essa razão, que a mistagogia da Iniciação Cristã apresenta-se como uma maneira de, simultaneamente, atender aos apelos do Concílio Vaticano II e falar uma linguagem acessível ao ser humano pós-moderno. É, com efeito, a partir de uma aproximação mistágógica ao Ritual de Iniciação Cristã de Adultos que se descortinam uma série de implicações para a ética da sexualidade tais como a comunicabilidade, a relacionalidade, a criatividade, a fecundidade, a ludicidade, a responsabilidade, a esponsabilidade, etc. Tais implicações ampliam o horizonte de possibilidade para se tratar do tema da ética da sexualidade na pós-modernidade, ao mesmo tempo que reorientam essa disciplina teológica à centralidade do mistério pascal de Cristo. / [en] From the Second Vatican Council and particularly from the decree Optatam Totius, a renewal of Moral Theology was requested in three basic guidelines: the rescue of the biblical tradition, the accent in the Salvation History and the link with the Liturgy. Such renewal is urgent and necessary in meeting the many challenges to talk theologically about the sexuality in post-modernity. Because of that, the mystagogy of Christian Initiation is presented as a way to simultaneously meet the Second Vatican Council appeals and speak a language accessible to postmodern human being. It is, in effect, from a mystagogical approach to the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults that several implications for the ethics of sexuality such as communicability, relationality, creativity, fertility, playfulness, responsibility, nuptiality, etc., are revealed. Such implications extend the horizon of possibility to address the ethics of sexuality theme in post-modernity, while redirect this theological discipline to the centrality of the Paschal Mystery of Christ.

[pt] A experiência mistagógica presente nas fontes da tradição eclesiástica, principalmente nos séculos III e IV, é momento forte e determinante no processo de Iniciação Cristã. Dentre os Padres da Igreja que representam a instituição do catecumenato, Cirilo de Jerusalém assinala o eixo mistagógico em suas Catequeses Mistagógicas. Através de suas homilias, Cirilo de Jerusalém orienta o processo de Iniciação Cristã como um caminho catecumenal, no qual a teologia subjacente suscita a abertura à dinâmica da Revelação na experiência pessoal e comunitária, à Palavra revelada nas Escrituras, à Tradição, ao Magistério da Igreja e às interpelações que a sociedade apresenta. Em tempos de novas configurações da subjetividade humana e de mudanças paradigmáticas na sociedade, a Iniciação Cristã de Adultos vem sofrendo um processo de revisão e de avaliação entre as comunidades locais, à luz das orientações do Magistério da Igreja e das interpelações de natureza pastoral. Nessa trajetória, nos aproximamos da experiência de Catecumenato com Adultos em uma comunidade particular, onde estabelecemos um diálogo teológico-pastoral-pedagógico na linha da pesquisa participante. A partir deste processo de elaboração entre a teologia sistemática e a experiência pastoral apresentamos algumas contribuições para que a Mistagogia identificada nas orientações de Cirilo de Jerusalém à Igreja de seu tempo, possa tornar-se fundamento e princípio orientador para a Iniciação Cristã com Adultos nas comunidades atuais. Nosso objetivo é motivar a atitude mistagógica na Iniciação Cristã de Adultos hoje, como um carisma fundamental no âmbito da Igreja, sinal não apenas para o Catecumenato com Adultos, mas para a evangelização atual. / [en] The mistagogic experience present in the sources of ecclesiastic tradition, especially in the third and fourth centuries, is a strong and decisive moment in the process of Christian Initiation. Among the Church Fathers representing the institution of catechumenate, Cyril of Jerusalem marks the mistagogic axis in his Mistagogic Catechesis. Through his homilies, Cyril of Jerusalem guides the process of Christian Initiation as a catechumenal way, in which the underlying theology raises the opening of the dynamics of the Revelation in personal and community experience, to Word revealed in the Scriptures, to the Tradition, to the Magisterium of the Church and to the requests that the society presents. In times of new configurations of human subjectivity and paradigmatic changes in society, the Christian Initiation of Adults has been experiencing a process of review and evaluation among local communities, under the guidance of the Magisterium of the Church and questions of pastoral nature. On this path, we approach the experience of Catechumenate with Adults in a local community, where we established a theological-pastoral- pedagogical dialogue on the line of participatory research. From this process of drafting between systematic theology and pastoral experience we present some contributions so that the Mistagogy identified in the guidelines of the Cyril of Jerusalem to the Church of his time can become a basis and guiding principle for the Christian Initiation with Adults in communities today. Our aim, therefore, is to motivate the mistagogic attitude in the Christian Initiation of Adults today, as a key charisma within the Church, reason not only for the Catechumenate with Adults, but also for evangelization today.
