[pt] Este estudo pretende analisar a vocação e a missão do leigo na Igreja, de forma especial, a partir de uma perspectiva histórica e teológica. Sabemos que esta temática vem despertando o interesse de renomados teólogos já bem antes do Concílio Vaticano II, fazendo da teologia do laicato, hoje, um campo fértil para a legitimação e para o aprofundamento da participação destes fiéis dentro da reflexão e missão cristãs. Partindo desta constatação, no primeiro capítulo percebemos que a figura do leigo católico ao longo dos séculos foi ganhando uma descrição negativa, que além da dicotomia gerada em relação a condição do clérigo, que progressivamente, foi ocasionando para a esmagadora maioria do povo cristão, um lugar esquecido e cada vez menos protagonizador diante da Igreja. No segundo capítulo, buscamos expor que o Concílio Vaticano II se empenhou em recuperar a identidade perdida dos leigos, cuja atuação é indispensável para a santificação do mundo e das suas respectivas realidades. Compreendemos que, para tanto, a visão conciliar enfatizou alguns conceitos importantes, tais como povo de Deus, participação, comunhão, sacerdócio comum etc, que não apenas contribuíram para uma nova definição do leigo cristão, mas também uma renovadora concepção eclesiológica. No terceiro capítulo, notamos que os avanços conciliares sobre a questão do laicato impactaram positivamente no magistério da Igreja, sobretudo, na América Latina, que não cessam de afirmar o agir dos leigos na Igreja e no mundo. Por fim, evidenciamos que estamos vivenciando nos últimos anos um tempo de mudanças, que exige de nós uma leitura mais completa e precisa das dificuldades e das contribuições do leigo perante às exigências da Nova Evangelização. Acreditamos que o reconhecimento da vocação e da missão do leigo na Igreja, constitui-se para todos os batizados uma autêntica afirmação da vivência da fé e do esforço comunitário na construção do Reino de Deus. / [en] This study aims to analyze the vocation and mission of the laity in the Church, in particular, from a theological and historical perspective. We know that this theme comes arousing the interest of renowned theologians already well before Vatican Council II, theology of the laity, today, a fertile field for the legitimization and for deepening the participation of these believers in the reflection and Christian mission. Based on this finding, in the first chapter we realized that the figure of the lay Catholic throughout the centuries has been gaining a negative description, that beyond the dichotomy raised about the condition of the clergy, which gradually was causing for the overwhelming majority of Christian people, a forgotten place and increasingly main character in front of the Church. In the second chapter, we seek to expose what the Vatican Council II sought to regain the lost identity of lay people, whose performance is essential for the sanctification of the world and of their respective realities. We understand that, therefore, the vision reconcile emphasized some important concepts, such as people of God, participation, communion, common priesthood etc, which not only contributed to a new definition of the lay Christian, but also an Ecclesiological design renewal. In the third chapter, we can note that the Council advances on the issue of laity impacted positively on the Magisterium of the Church, above all in Latin America, which doesn t cease to assert the Act of the laity in the Church and in the world. Finally, it was shown that we are experiencing in recent years a time of change, which requires of us a more complete and accurate reading of the difficulties and of the contributions of the lay before the demands of the new evangelization. We believe that the recognition of the vocation and mission of the laity in the Church, constitutes for all the baptised an authentic statement of the experience of faith and community effort in building the Kingdom of God.

[pt] A pesquisa está ligada ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Teologia da PUC-Rio na área de Teologia Sistemático-Pastoral, linha de pesquisa: Religião e Modernidade; e ligada ao projeto de pesquisa Temas sobre a Igreja e os Diálogos. O início do século XX apresentou ao mundo o atual movimento pentecostal, que se expandiu consideravelmente no cristianismo, e sua maneira de atuação missionária tem despertado a atenção de muitos pesquisadores. Nesta tese é analisada a missão da Igreja do Evangelho Quadrangular, que integra o movimento, tanto no tocante à sua participação histórica quanto na teologia. A pesquisa buscou um teólogo que discutisse temas pneumatológicos e da teologia da missão, encontrando em José Comblin um interessante referencial teórico para compor um diálogo sobre a missão e o Espírito Santo. Esse proeminente teólogo, além de ocupar-se dos temas pertinentes à missão dessa denominação, também atuou como missionário, refletindo a partir do agir. Propõe-se aqui o diálogo ecumênico, por se tratar de uma prática pentecostal em diálogo com um expoente da teologia católica. A hipótese da pesquisa é que o crescimento da IEQ no Brasil está relacionado à sua missão pelos leigos . A missão, para a IEQ, inicia-se com uma evangelização de anúncio taumatúrgico, pela cura dos indivíduos. Vemos que para Comblin a missão tem um caráter de libertação do ser humano. Nesse ponto as duas noções de missão podem dialogar. Observa-se que na atualidade a reflexão da IEQ está se abrindo da cura do indivíduo para ter também o cuidado com o ser humano e tudo que diz respeito à vida, como a ecologia e as diferenças sociais. / [en] The research is linked to the Graduate Program in Theology at PUC-Rio in the area of Systematic-Pastoral Theology, line of research: Religion and Modernity; and linked to the research project Themes on the Church and the Dialogues. The beginning of the 20th Century introduced to the world the current pentecostal movement, which it expanded considerably in Christianity, and its way of missionary work has awakened the attention of many researchers. In this thesis is analyzed the mission of the Foursquare Church, which integrates the movement, both in terms of its historical participation and in Theology. The research sought a theologian who discussed pneumatological themes and the mission Theology, finding in José Comblin an interesting theoretical reference to compose a dialogue about the mission and the Holy Spirit. This prominent theologian, in addition to deal with relevant themes to the mission of that denomination, also served as a missionary, reflecting from the act itself. It s proposed here the ecumenical dialogue, as it is a pentecostal practice in dialogue with an exponent of the Catholic Theology. The hypothesis research is that the growth of the Foursquare Church in Brazil is related to its mission by the laypeople. The mission for the Foursquare Church begins with an evangelization of thaumaturgical proclamation, for the healing of individuals. We see that for Comblin, the mission has a liberation character of the human being. At this point, the two notions of mission can dialogue. It is observed that nowadays the reflection of Foursquare Church is opening up from the healing of the individual to also have the care of the human being and everything that concerns to life, such as Ecology and social differences.
