[en] HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT: THE CASE OF PRIVATE HOSPITALS IN RIO DE JANEIRO / [pt] GESTÃO HOSPITALAR: O CASO DE HOSPITAIS PRIVADOS DO RIO DE JANEIROALEXANDRE CUNHA LOBO DE MELO 18 December 2007 (has links)
Todos eles têm as
cirurgias como uma de suas
principais atividades, a despeito de, também, realizarem
outros tipos de
atendimento.
[en] This study`s objective is to identify the success critical
factors in hospital
management and to propose a management model based on the
best practices in
the market. It was presumed that many of these factors
would be related to the
challenges faced by the hospital in the market, to the
strategies adopted, to the
way these strategies are implemented and to the management
technologies used.
So, a literature review was made and the field questions
were created focusing on
these topics. In the field, five Rio de Janeiro
metropolitan area private hospitals
were studied. All of them have the surgeries as one of
their main activities,
despite of doing many other procedures. So, the doctors
are one of their main
clients, as far as they need the hospital structure to
make their surgeries come to
true. The results reveal a spacefull market, a lack of
professional management as
well as informal strategies. In the end, a hospital
management model is proposed.
This model may help the hospitals to make themselves ready
to the market
professionalization that must come soon.

[en] THE INTRODUCTION OF DIGITAL TV AND THE ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE / [pt] A IMPLANTAÇÃO DA TV DIGITAL E A MUDANÇA ORGANIZACIONALRODRIGO MESQUITA MARINHO 24 August 2009 (has links)
[en] Businesses are becoming more and more exposed to influences from the
outside environment. Factors like economic globalization, the intensification of
competition, and the opening of markets have led administrators and scholars to
try to understand how businesses can satisfy demands and how to influence the
environment in which they find themselves. Broadcasters of free-to-air (FTA)
television are going through changes caused by institutional pressures and by
technological advances that the sector has been testing. The objective of this
research was to identify what the impacts occasioned by the introduction of digital
television to the FTA broadcaster studied have been.
What has motivated the adoption of the new technology-only
possibilities of improvements of the product, or were there external pressures that
did not leave any alternative but to adopt the new technology? There were
interviews with eight directors of the business studied. The directors interviewed
are in charge of strategic areas in the business. The result of the research evinced
that the introduction of digital technology into the broadcasters of FTA television
will not bring about significant changes in the short term; it is a matter of a
technological change. Despite the new technology having a high potential to spur
innovations, the business studied is conservative in regard to the investments
necessary for its complete distribution in function of the high costs that such
investments would involve for the business studied and for the consumers,
without there being an adequate profitability. The broadcasters of FTA television
have adopted digital technology in response to the growth of new media like the
Internet, cellphones, and pay TV.

[en] CONTRACT LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT IN A LARGE COMPANY: A MODEL FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF ADOPTIVE PLANNING / [pt] GESTÃO DO CICLO DE VIDA DE CONTRATOS EM UMA GRANDE EMPRESA: UM MODELO SOB A PERSPECTIVA DO PLANEJAMENTO ADAPTATIVORAQUEL XIMENES SILVA 06 March 2017 (has links)
[en] The diffusion of outsourcing process services since the 90 s, in Brazil, has led to an increase in commercial transactions among companies, usually formalized by a contractual instrument. The increase in business-to-business relations has made contract management an activity of strategic importance, as revenues and costs are greatly influenced by the organizational capacity for managing business relations. Sometimes, however, disputes over issues not covered in contract and changes to previously agreed conditions arise, leading to the occurrence of contractual claims. This study proposes a model for contract management aiming at improving the governance of contracted services and obtaining greater efficiency in the performance of contracts, resulting in lower incidence of claims. With this objective, the process of managing the contract life cycle in a big company is investigated through the analysis of Construction and Assembly contracts. The Model is developed from the Adaptive Planning perspective, focusing on complex contracts. In addition to the analysis of documents and procedures adopted by the company, questionnaires were applied to Construction and Assembly contract managers, who contributed to the design of the proposed Model.
