[pt] As estruturas flexíveis tradicionalmente aplicadas no mobiliário abrangem as tramas têxteis, o couro e os não tecidos. Essas estruturas sempre foram tão integradas no mobiliário, que não nos questionamos sobre seu valor no resultado final do projeto, sobre a forma como foram produzidos ou por quem. A pesquisa em questão, questiona a prioridade dada às estruturasrígidas de artefatos de assento, em superioridade às suas superfícies flexíveis e têxteis. Portanto, o estudo tem como objetivo geral propor inovação no design de mobiliário autoral (especialmente cadeiras e poltronas), a partir da reestruturação da relação deste com o Design Têxtil. Foi realizada uma investigação buscando compreender como se estabeleceu, através do tempo, a relação destes dois subsistemas principais formadores de artefatos de assento, a estrutura rígida e a estrutura têxtil. Outro fator discutido foi a forma de atuação do designer têxtil em projetos de mobiliário, compreendendo a disciplina do Design Têxtil não ser um campo acadêmico estruturado no Brasil, e sim fragmentado em diversas disciplinas como a moda, o design gráfico e a engenharia têxtil. Foi realizada uma taxonomia a partir de um conjunto de assentos que se caracterizam pela relação especial com o conceito têxtil. Desta maneira, os métodos utilizados foram a pesquisa bibliográfica, documental e a exploratória, sendo esta última realizada em paralelo aos outros métodos, embasada pela Pesquisa Através do Design (RtD). As análises da relação entre a estrutura rígida e têxtil nos assentos se tornaram um processo, um sistema que revela hiatos para a criação de novas configurações de assentos. Com este estudo espera-se contribuir também para discussão sobre um corpo integrado e compartilhado em design têxtil acadêmico e profissional, buscando a valorização do trabalho criativo artesanal e industrial têxtil contemporâneo no Brasil. / [en] Flexible structures traditionally applied to furniture are textile, leather andnon-woven fabrics. These structures have always been so integrated into thefurniture that we do not question their value in the final result of the project, howthey were produced or by whom. In this research we are querying the priority givento rigid structures of seat artifacts, in superiority to their flexible surfaces andtextiles, and ask: how can textiles play a leading role in furniture design? Therefore,the study aims to propose innovation in furniture design authorial (especially chairsand armchairs), from the restructuring of its relationship with the concept of textile.An investigation was carried out in order to understand how the relationship of thesetwo main subsystems of seats artifacts was established over time, namely the rigidstructure and the textile structure. Another factor discussed was the way the textiledesigner works in furniture projects, considering that the Textile Design disciplineis not a structured academic field in Brazil, but rather fragmented into severaldisciplines such asfashion, graphic design and textile engineering. A taxonomy wascarried out based on a set of seats that are characterized by their special relationshipwith the textile concept. Thus, the methods used were bibliographic, documentaryand exploratory research, the latter being carried out in parallel with the othermethods, based on Research Through Design (RtD). Analysis of the relationshipbetween rigid and textile structure in seats has become a process, a system thatreveals gaps for the creation of new seat configurations. With this study, it is alsoexpected to contribute to the discussion about an integrated and shared body inacademic and professional textile design, seeking the appreciation of contemporarytextile industrial and artisanal creative work.
