Frameworky pro vývoj webových aplikací Ruby on Rails a Grails / Ruby on Rails and Grails - frameworks for web application developmentČerný, Michael January 2012 (has links)
The thesis compares web frameworks Ruby on Rails and Grails. The main goal of the thesis is to compare which of these frameworks is more convenient for development of web applications using wide range of criteria. The first part of the thesis defines fundamental terms to understand the web frameworks topic. Subsequently the thesis analyzes the history, language and fundamental characteristics of both frameworks. The next section describes all the details of the reference applications in Ruby on Rails and Grails, that are part of this diploma thesis. The most important part of this thesis is the comparison of both frameworks using a number of criteria. The thesis should provide sufficient amount of information to understand the web frameworks, to obtain the fundamentals for working with the web frameworks Ruby and Rails and Grails and it should bring enough information for optimum choice between these frameworks for development of web application and for future studies. The thesis could be of benefit to both students, that decide what to study in the future, and managers or project leaders, that decide which web framework to use.

Self-optimizing native object database for a dynamic programming languageLuukkonen, Jukka-Pekka January 2006 (has links)

Object oriented software development is the main choice when developing business software today. For distributed storage of data they mostly use relational databases. The relational model however is not fully natural from an object oriented development perspective. The natural selection would be to use object oriented databases, however their development has not been as fast as their relational predecessors. The rise in popularity of smaller, fully object oriented languages such as Ruby and Python and open source projects developed with them are adding to the awareness of persistent object storage. This paper describes the current and future solutions for data storage in applications, their pros and cons and additionally shows an implementation of a native object persistence framework written in Ruby that supports indexing for self-optimizing.

Annealing of GaA1As double heterostructures with homogeneous ruby laser lightBrett, Michael Julian January 1981 (has links)
The output from a ruby laser was homogenized, and used to laser anneal the active layer of GaA1As double heterostructure wafers in an attempt to improve the radiative efficiency of the active layer. At anneal energies exceeding the estimated threshold for melting of the active layer, the radiative efficiency was reduced by a factor of two. Subsequently, semiconductor laser diodes fabricated from laser annealed heterostructures performed much worse than those fabricated from unannealed heterostructures. / Science, Faculty of / Physics and Astronomy, Department of / Graduate

INTERNETINIS TOTALIZATORIUS / INTERNET TOTALIZATORSteponavičius, Andrius 28 September 2010 (has links)
This concluding work‘s in title „Internet totalizator”, objectives and area are named at concretize theoretical part of this work description by the main work title itself. By theoretical conclusions internet accessible network application was developed, by which help internet users who would be registered and logged in could participate in events presumption totalizators, by vast areas and options of guessing range. Also concluding work’s practical system’s portion application is processing user’s events presumptions entries automatically and then after analyzing process display those results in processed form, this way creating events presumption based gambling game, in which participants for their right guesses receiving prerogative points. System is as much as possible dynamical and self extendible, thru out administrative functions and scopes. Also registered users should be dragged into administrative subsystem then it would expend and be more and more complicated.
