A alface (Lactuca sativa L) e a principal hortaliça folhosa cultivada no Brasil, tendo sua produtividade e qualidade limitada, de acordo com as épocas de cultivo, ambientes e o tipo de cultivar adotada. Objetivou-se com este trabalho verificar em diferentes épocas, qual o melhor ambiente de cultivo para cultivares de alface no Centro-Sul do estado do Tocantins. Foram instalados três experimentos (primavera, verão e inverno). Em cada época, foram avaliadas três cultivares de alface (Vera, Tainá e Rafaela) e três ambientes de cultivo (Túnel baixo em canteiros protegidos por mulching, canteiros protegido somente com mulching e canteiros sem nenhuma proteção). As variáveis avaliadas foram: Massa fresca das plantas (em g); Comprimento do caule (em cm); diâmetro da cabeça (em cm); número de folhas por cabeça; Volume das cabeças (em cm3); Produtividade (em Mg ha-1). O inverno é o período de cultivo mais indicado para o cultivo da alface. O túnel baixo com mulching é o sistema de cultivo mais recomendado para o cultivo da alface em comparação aos demais. A cultivar Vera foi superior as demais para os ambientes de cultivo avaliado. / Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L) and the main leafy vegetable grown in Brazil, with productivity and limited quality, according to the growing seasons, environments and the type of farming adopted. The objective of this work check at different times, what is the best environment for growing lettuce cultivars in the Center-South of the Tocantins state. Three experiments were installed (spring, summer and winter). In every age, were evaluated three lettuce cultivars (Vera, Taina and Rafaela) and three farming environments (Tunnel down on beds protected by mulching, flower beds protected only with mulching beds and no protection). The variables evaluated were: plant weight (g); Stem Length (cm); head diameter (in cm); number of leaves per head; Volume of heads (in cm 3); Productivity (Mg ha-1). Winter is the most appropriate cultivation period for growing lettuce. The low tunnel with mulching is the most recommended cultivation system for growing lettuce in comparison to others. Cultivar Vera was higher than the other for the rated cultivation environments.
