The diploma thesis is focused on the protection of privacy and personal data in labour relations. The literature research is devoted to the definition of basic terms, the legal base of the protection of personal data and privacy, the rights and obligations of the parties, the supervisory authority and the sanctions related to the non-compliance of obligations imposed by the law. The research focuses on the conflict of interest of the employer and the right to privacy of the employee and the degree of legitimacy of workplace monitoring. The original research part deals with the analysis of personal data protection and privacy measures in the chosen business organization during the whole process from the beginning of the selection process, during the duration of the employment relationship to its termination. Subsequently, the ways of monitoring employees and their legitimacy are evaluated. Based on analysed facts, corrective recommendations, including the economic aspect, are proposed in conclusion of the thesis.

Personal data protection under the law of European Union ABSTRACT The diploma thesis discusses the legal regulation of personal data protection under the European Union law with focus on the rights of data subjects, i.e. natural persons whose personal data are being processed. The aim of the thesis is to compare the current legal regulation of the rights of data subjects (directive on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data) with the legal regulation with forthcoming effectiveness (GDPR) with focus on the issue how the new legal regulation dealt with the problems for which the Directive has been criticised and how it dealt with problematic parts of the regulation of the rights of data subjects. The diploma thesis consists of five parts including the introduction, the conclusion and three chapters of the own text. The chapter one contains the introduction to the field of personal data protection, including the brief history of the development of personal data protection, and it is further divided into the sub-chapters where the primary and secondary law concerning personal data protection in the European Union and its development are introduced. Hercík, J. Protection of Privacy and Personal data of Employees in a Business Organization. Master's thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2017. The thesis is focused on the protection of personal data and privacy under an employment relationship. The main aim of this thesis is to suggest specific corrective measures to a business organization in order to ensure an alignment between its current situation and the legislation of the Czech Republic. The literary research represents an introduction to the topic of personal data protection and privacy. Definitions of its basic concepts are put into context of the legislation of the Czech Republic. The original research part contains an analysis of personal data protection and privacy measures in a chosen business organization throughout its complete process from staff selection to termination of employment. As a result of a comparison between this analysis and the current legislation of the Czech Republic, proposals to introduce specific corrective measures are presented.

The diploma thesis is focused on the protection of privacy and personal data in labor-law relations. The literary research is defined the basic terminology, the legislative base of the protection of privacy and personal data, the rights and obligations of the parties and, last but not least, the sanctions related to the non-compliance of the obligations imposed by the law. The original research part deals with the analysis of the procedures for the protection and processing of personal data of employees and privacy at the workplace of the chosen company. The attention is focused on the processes from the beginning of the selection process, during the employment relationship and after the end of labor-law relationship. Further, the ways of monitoring employees and their legitimacy are evaluated. Based on analysed and identified shortcomings and errors, corrective recommendations are proposed in conclusion of the thesis, which will ensure compliance with valid legislation of the Czech Republic and the European Union.

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of personal data protection, i.e. data which security in contemporary digitaly interconnected wold concerns each one of us. Included literary research covers the basic concepts of the existing law which re-gulates the issue of personal data protection. Particular attention is paid to the new European Parliament resolution The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The core of the thesis rellies in the application of the summed knowledge to a particular business company. Said entity processes the personal data of its em-ployees from the beginning of the employment relationship to it’s end and, to so-me extent, even further. Its systems also include personal data of customers, ma-inly related to their individual purchase contracts.

The diploma thesis focuses on privacy and personal data protection in the em-ployment sphere. The literature research part defines terminology necessary for understanding this issue, including the basic Czech legislation on the protection of privacy and private data. It also examines the institute of The Office for Personal Data Protection. The original research part identifies processes of personal data and privacy pro-tection in a specific factory. We have examined personal data processing from the moment of advertising a tender for a job position to cessation of employment, inc-luding monitoring employees during their employment. Based on an application of insights gained during our research we recognized some missteps of the company in the light of the current legislation. In the original research part there is a sugges-tion of what specific alterations the company should make to manage their em-ployees data in accordance with the current Czech legislation.

The hypothesis that is proposed and tested is that it cannot be, since it includes concepts and wording that are impractical in cloud computing. This is assessed based on how different cloud computing services function. This diploma thesis deals with the topic of personal data protection, and focuses particularly on the duties of the data controller, which also largely apply to the employer as the controller of the personal data of the employees. The diploma thesis builds primarily on the legal regulation of personal data protection contained in GDPR, while in some sections, a comparison with the previously effective personal data protection legislation is included. The objective of this diploma thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of fundamental personal data protection institutes from the data controller's point of view with a focus on the analysis of some of the obligations which has been newly introduced by GDPR. Personal data protection is only one of many specific fields of administrative law. In everyday life, personal data and their protection are quite wide area that deserves our full attention and it's possible to study it extensively. This diploma thesis deals specifically with personal data protection while processing them. First of all, it defines the right to privacy and the term personal data. Further, it deals with basic legal requirements concerning personal data processing based on Act no. 101/2000 Coll., on the protection of personal data, including transfer of personal data to other countries and its recent development in Safe Harbor principles that are rules for transfer of personal data into United States of America. Besides personal data being a unique tool to distinguish individuals from each other, they are a very useful and valuable tool in business too. Therefore the most common way of personal data processing is while carrying on a business. At the end of this thesis, some specific situations were chosen to demonstrate how entrepreneurs process personal data of their customers and other persons they come into contact with. Then the basic obligations of data processing are analyzed with respect to real situations.
