Topos příchodu praotce Čecha / The topos of the arrival of forefather Čech

Gričová, Andrea January 2018 (has links)
This diploma thesis tackles the theme of the mythical arrival of Father Čech and his processing in literary texts. The purpose of the thesis is not a historical interpretation, but a narratological comparative interpretation. After the characteristic of the myth and its functioning in literary texts, there follows an interpretation of the theory of fictional worlds, which also deals with myths. Then follows the individual variations of the story, subjected to the submitted narrative-interpretation analysis also in terms of composition, characters and narrators. The objective is to capture the individual changes of the story and provide a comprehensive picture of how individual authors work with this narrative and how the story changes and transforms. Key words Myth, topos, father Čech, narrative, fictional worlds, narrator

Aplikace teorie ultrafiltrů / Ultrafilters and their applications

Hýlová, Lenka January 2021 (has links)
This thesis studies ultrafilters and their various applications in topology, social choice theory and construction of a nonstandard universe. First of all, we introduce basic properties of ultrafilters and show how to use them to construct nonstandard framework. Next, we prove Arrow's impossibility theorem which states that every electoral system with a finite set of voters satisfying certain natural conditions necessarily admits at least one dictator who determines the society's preferences. However, if the set of voters is infinite, this is not true anymore and ultrafilters play a key role in the proof. We present two counterexamples in the infinite case using nonstandard framework. A similar theorem holds in the case where the preferences are real functions. Again, we show two examples of electoral systems that are not dictatorial - one using Banach limits and the other using hyperfinite sums. Finally, we use the ultrafilters to construct the Čech-Stone compactification of natural numbers. We show that the nonstandard enlargement of natural numbers equipped with suitable topology is the Čech-Stone compactification of the set of natural numbers. 1

Fiktivní jazyky v literatuře / Fictional languages in literature

Jelínek, Jiří January 2014 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to introduce the so far ignored topic of fictional languages in literature. In the first part it focuses mainly on the function of the fictional languages in the literary works, and analyses the basic options of the fictional languages classification, based on whether they can be labeled as an independent work of art, as an autonomous part of a work, or as an instrument of the aesthetic function in the work. Furthermore, it divides the fictional languages in accordance to the way in which they take effect, either through the expression-form, through the expression- substance, through the content-form, or through the content-substance, taking the terminology from the Louis Hjelmslev's sign model. The second part consists of the analysis of the cases of fictional language usage in prose; these usages are grouped into three divisions. Languages, which help to create an invented world (and eventually add up to its authenticity), are represented by J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional languages. The dystopian languages include Newspeak from the novel Nineteen Eighty Four by George Orwell, ptydepe and chorukor from the play The Memorandum by V. Havel, and "Moon Czech" from the prose The True Excursion of Mr. Brouček to the Moon by S. Čech. Fictional languages related to philosophy are...

Brazílie očima cestovatele Františka Čecha-Vyšaty / Brazil seen by the traveller František Čech-Vyšata

Tkadlečková, Věra January 2014 (has links)
František Čech-Vyšata (1881-1942) was a Czech traveller and publicist. During his journeys to South America, he realized between years 1914-1917 and 1927-1937 two long-term stays in Brazil. He described his first stay in this country in travelogue V žáru pamp (1927) and another travelogue Středem Jižní Ameriky (1936) he dedicated to his second stay. Particularly in his second travellogue he also gives evidence about Czech compatriot communities in Brazil in between two World wars. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Déformation des feuilletages par variétés complexes / Deformations of foliations by complex manifolds

Burel, Thomas 10 December 2010 (has links)
The aim of this work is to generalise the study of deformations of complex manifolds by kodaira and Spencer to the case of manifolds foliated by complex manifolds. After defning the notion of family of deformations of compact manifold foliated by complex manifolds, we prove a theorem of rigidity, one of completeness and one of existence in our framework. We can not apply one potential theory here, so we have to use power series technics.

Belemniti jury severních Čech - stratigrafie, paleobiogeografie a možný izotopový záznam / The Jurassic belemnites of northern Bohemia - stratigraphy, palaeobiogeography and possible isotope record

Geist, Jan January 2020 (has links)
4 Abstract The work is based on a revision of collection from several scientific institutions from the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Saxony (National Museum in Prague, Chlupáč Museum of Earth History, Senckenberg Natural History Collections Dresden, etc.). The collection is based on samples published by Oskar Lenz and George Bruder from the second half of the 19th century. Both authors also processed the findings of other researchers (e.g. Cotta, Weisse). The belemnite rostra were systematically divided into four families, five genera and seven identifiable genera. One rostrum has not exactly been determined. The age of the samples was established to be the Middle and Upper Jurassic (Bajocian- Kimmeridgian). The length of the expected sedimentation in this area has been prolonged to the past (deeper to the Middle Jurassic), mainly due to the finding of the species Megateuthis gigantea Schlotheim, 1820. Earlier research (especially in the 20th century) assumed the extent of preserved carbonate rocks only in the Oxfordian and Kimmeridgian age, with a not much fossiliferous Callovian Brtníky Formation. The studied sedimentary rocks show a significant influence of Milankovich cycles with repeated alternation of carbonate and non- carbonate layers in the sequence. Preliminary results of isotope...

Narativní konstrukce češství vídeňských Čechů / Narrative Construction Czechness of the Viennese Czechs

Berg, Lucie January 2016 (has links)
Vienna, once the biggest Czech city, into which craftsmen, wage workers and servants, most of them coming from the Bohemian and Moravian south, poured by houndreds in search for work in the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th century. Some would progressively return back to Bohemia and Moravia, while others would settle down in Vienna and assimilate completely. This thesis, however, focuses on the descendants of those who, although they stayed in Vienna, maintained their tie to Czech culture and their Czechness. The thesis, based upon nineteen biographical stories collected in May and June 2015 in Vienna, presents the ways in which the interviewees construct their ethnical/national and collective identity and communicative memory. The interviewees are representatives of Vienna's Czech old residents who speak Czech, are active in the community's life and each one of whom has at least one ancestor of Czech origin who came to Vienna before Wold War II or earlier. Depending on their birthdate, they were assigned a place within one of the following generations: interwar, war, middle and youngest. Every generation is given one chapter presenting its speakers, the ways in which they identify themselves, their attitude (active or passive) to the building of their identity as well as the commonly shared...

Literární a mytologické osudy postavy praotce Čecha / Literary and mythological trajectories of "Forefather Bohemus"

Deči, Vojtěch January 2022 (has links)
In his work, the graduate reflects the literary and mythological aspect of the founding figure of the "Forefather Bohemus" in the Czech literary environment. In the theoretical part of the work, he will think about the processes of mythology of history that take place around this character, and based on a comparison of key works he will present his own approach. The practical part will consist of interpretive probes into selected canonical texts: the chronicles of canon Kosmas, the so-called Dalimil and Václav Hájek of Libočany on the one side, and modern fictional works by Žofie Podlipská and Rudolf R. Hofmeister on the other. Keywords Forefather Bohemus; folklore; myth; national epic; chronicle.

Vliv struktury biotopu na společenstva vodních brouků v jižních Čechách / The influence of habitat structure on aquatic beetles in southern Bohemia

KOLÁŘ, Vojtěch January 2015 (has links)
I studied the influence of fishpond management and environmental characteristics on diving beetles (Coleoptera: Dytiscidae), which are important predators in aquatic systems. In 2014 I used live traps to study diving beetle communities in 117 ponds in South Bohemia. The ponds were divided in three categories: intensively managed, extensively managed, and without fish. In total 26 species of diving beetles were found (N=1346). Overall, the beetles prefered shallow litoral zones with cattail (Typha), manna grass (Glyceria) and reed (Phragmites). The number of species declined with increasing alttitude and depth near the trap, while their abundance increased with pond area and amount of detritus near the trap. Beetles occured more in ponds with lower pH, lower conductivity and higher oxygen content. More beetles were found in fishless ponds. On the other hand, some ponds with high density of fishes but well preserved littoral zone had similar communities of diving beetles to the fishless ponds. This shows that high density of fish in ponds decreases the diversity and abundance of diving beetles, most likely because it decreases the vegetation in littoral zone. During the survey, four new localities of Graphoderus bilineatus were found; the species is protected by NATURA 2000 and has been known from very few recent localities in the Třeboň area.
