The influence of volcanoes on climate is very often debated, not only in the scientific community. However, the question remains, how much may the volcanic activity contribute to the significant ganges, that could cause a response of environment, which lies in the immediate vicinity. These changes could arise as a response on prolonged exposure of the negative influence, which would last much longer than decades, like it is at present. From this reason the situation in the České středohoří Mountains, where the volcanic activity lasted for several million years during the Paleogene period, is studied. This area is extraordinally rich in deposits of so-called volcanic floras, which accompany the neovolcanic activity. The age of the localities are between late Eocene to late Oligocene and it is a long time enough for recognizing some changes in the floristic composition to help elucidate the given problem.

The historical core of České Budějovice is famous for its gothic urbanism with a large main square. But in the city center or not far away, we can find a number of not very well utilized sites with great potential. Their reconstruction and new use may improve the quality of public space and could increase the city density. Through this thesis, I decided to try to define these sites and initiate a public debate over their appearance. The work was divided into two semesters, while in the fall semester I dealt with the selection of suitable sites; short list consists of 8 areas suitable for transformation, from which emerged 3 test projects processed to the level of the urban concept. Subsequently, on the basis of this projects I worked in the spring semester on one particular area - Senovážné Square – and I transformed the original urban vision into the thesis project.

This diploma thesis "Principles of Equalizing the Tractions-engines Power Output of Foreign Provider of Railway Services" aims to delineate how inequalities in power output emerge and how they are later equalized by provider of railway services. This is one of the crucial topics for operating and putting together international trains. The theoretical basis is then used in the applied part of this thesis to describe and evaluate tractions-engines power output of selected foreign provider of railway services on Czech railway network. For better description there is also a balance of tractions-engines of power output enclose at the end of this thesis to illustrate the position of Czech Railways abroad. The analysis made in the applied part put stress on differentiating the long distance transport from cross-border international transport of passengers. Furthermore, this thesis deals with the implementation of the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) in the connection with compatibility of the Czech railway network to neighbouring rail networks with emphasis on train safety appliances and the project European Train Control System (ETCS).

The thesis deals with the financial statements which are presented in accordance with Czech Accounting Standards and with IFRS. There is the description of the financial statements in accordance with Czech Accounting Standards in the first part. The specification of the major legal standards is also part of this chapter. The second part is focused on the financial statements which are presented in accordance with IFRS. In the next chapter there is the analysis of the main differences between Czech Accounting Standards and IFRS. The goal of the last part is to analyze the financial statements of two companies. One of them (České dráhy, a.s.) presents its financial statements in accordance with Czech Accounting Standards and the other (ŽSR) presents them in accordance with IFRS.

1 Abstract CONSTITUTIONAL INSTITUTES OF PARDON AND AMNESTY This thesis deals with constitutional institutes of pardon and amnesty. The thesis aims to provide information on existing legal regulation of this area, closer explanation of the particular legal institutes, describe their historical development and show the way of their application during tenures of Czech presidents. The Introduction contains brief summary of the goals of the thesis, its structure and reasons for choice of the respective topic. The First Chapter is devoted to definition of elementary terms of pardon and amnesty and explanation of basic differences of their forms, i.e. abolition, agraciation and rehabilitation since correct understanding of these terms is crucial for understanding of the whole following text, The Second Chapter deals with historical development of the constitutional institutes in question before emergence of the independent Czech Republic. The Third Chapter contains analysis of current legal regulation in constitutional and general law. The Fourth Chapter is devoted to pardon, particularly more thorough analysis of transfer of capacity to grant pardons and procedural affairs related to granting of pardons in practice. Vliv Společné zemědělské politiky (SZP) Evropské unie na Českou republiku je téma, jenž ve stále postupujících procesech globalizace a integrace nabývá na významu. Opatření v rámci SZP hrají velmi důležitou úlohu. Vývoj agrární politiky České republiky byl ovlivněn procesem integrace ČR do Evropské unie, jenž byl završen vstupem ČR do EU 1.května 2004. Potenciální oblasti rozvoje českého zemědělství pod vlivem SZP představují cílové zaměření práce. Farmáři mají potenciál zejména pro rozvoj ekologického zemědělství, podporovaném aktivitami spjatými s agroturismem či využíváním obnovitelných zdrojů energií. Čeští zemědělci čelí v EU tvrdé konkurenci, a proto je nezbytné, aby v co největší míře využívaly možnosti, které před ně Společná zemědělská politika klade zejména prostřednictvím strukturálních fondů.

Práce se zabývá oborem českého lázeňství, podmínkami podnikání v této oblasti a především faktory určujícími konkurenceschopnost českého lázeňství v podmínkách EU. Praktická část zkoumá konkurenceschopnost konkrétního podniku-Lázeňského Sanatoria Royal Mariánské Lázně a.s. Zde je východiskem situační analýza mikro a makroprostředí společnosti, dále analýza jednotlivých částí marketingového mixu společnosti, managementu lázeňské destinace. Aktuální podmínky českého lázeňství v rámci EU jsou charakterizovány z pohledu legislativního, z hlediska financování, struktury lázeňské péče, počtu, struktury a indikací hostů. V práci jsou užity tyto metody- situační analýza, syntéza pomocí SWOT analýzy, PEST analýza pro zhodnocení externích vlivů a analýza marketingového mixu.

This thesis presents my encounter with Czech piano literature. The first chapter attempts to define the term „piano literature“ and describes the origins of piano literature. The second chapter outlines the history of Czech piano literature. The third and crucial chapter analyses Czech composers whose works I present at my final recital. I compile their personal and artistic circumstances and their significance for the Czech culture, and explain my relationship with their work.

This thesis aims to comprehend and analyze the urbanistic development of the Linecká district in the southern part of České Budějovice. This district underwent major development both during and after the 1960's, and many historical houses were demolished and substituted with houses comprised of prefabricated concrete panels. Those buildings are part of the first generation of prefabricated houses in the country of Czechoslovakia. The main street of this area is Lidická třída, where the collective house "Experiment" was built according a design by J. Benda, who also participated the reconstruction of the rest of Lidická třída. An evaluation of its urban concept with regard to the contemporary tendencies of Europe and world architecture is one of the goals of this thesis.

The aim of the thesis was lexical analysis of names of Czech dishes and their translation into English. The notions such as concept, translation or lexical relations were studied and in the analytical part applied. For this purpose Czech menus were collected. The thesis proves, that while translating unknown concept from source language into target language, there are two things that appear to be crucial, economy of the translation and its transparency. The transparency should always play the main role.
