Proměna Šumavy za industrializace: zapomenuté stopy dřevařů / The Transformation of Šumava Mountains at the time of industrialization: Forgotten Traces of Woodworkers

Blažková, Tereza January 2018 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to show the changes and the development of the landscape and the settlement of the region of central Šumava mountains due to industrialization in the 19th century. The thesis is based theoretically and methodologically in the field of anthropology of landscape and industrial archeology. It combines archive written and cartographic sources with non-destructive field research of anthropogenic relics. The industrialization of the area of interest meant the woodworking expansion that was caused by the lack of firewood in Prague and its surroundings and was realized as a business plan by the noble Schwarzenberg family. Schwarzenberg forest exploatation and timber floating system for firewood transport have brought significant landscape changes to hitherto almost untouched mountaneous forested areas. The field research has identified elements of the floating timber system, such as water reservoirs, watercourse troughs or the Vchynicko-Tetovský floating canal, as well as traces of both, permanent and seasonal settlement of woodcutters. The work divides the area into four zones, depending on how they were used, settled and transformed during the 19th century. The greatest attention is devoted to zone no. I, the remote forest area, which has become a major resource area for the Schwarzenberg...

Historický vývoj přeshraniční spolupráce: příklad Euroregionu Šumava / Historical development of cross-border cooperation: example Euroregion Šumava

Jánová, Zuzana January 2015 (has links)
The thesis deals with the historical development of cross-border cooperation in the Euroregion Šumava which is the Czech part of the Czech-German and the Czech-Austrian border defined as Euroregion Šumava/ Bayerischer Wald - Unterer Inn/ Mühlviertel. The main objective is to find out how joint cross- border cooperation has changed from the initial idea of joint cross-border cooperation through the establishment of the Euroregion Šumava to the present. Another objective is to identify regional differences in the development of cross-border cooperation from the perspective of three model areas that have different scale levels. The overall aim is to identify changes in the evolution of cross-border cooperation and an attempt to explain the causes of possible variabilities. The thesis is based on quantitative research in the form of cross-border analysis of completed projects and qualitative research based on structured interviews with selected respondents. A prerequisite of this thesis is both the shift from cross-border cooperation "bottom up" to "top down" and the subsequent interconnection of both forms. It is further assumed considerable regional differentiation. Both assumptions were confirmed through mutual reporting periods as well as comparison of model municipalities. Vliv maedi-visna viru na reprodukční ukazatele ve vybraném chovu plemene šumavská ovce

OUŘEDNÍKOVÁ, Kateřina January 2019 (has links)
The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the influence of maedi-visna on reproductive indicators in selected Šumava sheep breeding. Serological test ELISA was accomplished in the evaluated herd, and its results were used for comparing reproductive rates of healthy and infected ewes. Maedi-visna disease was proved in 16 out of 193 samples (8, 29 %). Statistically significant influence of maedi-visna was shown in indicators such as age of infected ewes and number of reared lambs. For other indicators (number of live birth lambs, lambs weight in 100 days, occurrence of sterility, mortality and stillborn lambs) higher success rate was observed in maedi-visna negative ewes, however these findings were not statistically significant. Maedi-visna is incurable disease and most important tool how to avoid this disease is preventive protection of the sheep breedings.
