Kvalita života pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou / Life quality of patients suffering from multiple sclerosis

OHÁŇKOVÁ, Jana January 2008 (has links)
A multiple cerebrospinal sclerosis is one of the most frequent neurologic diseases affecting individuals in the productive age, more often women. The thesis aims to describe the life quality of patients suffering from multiple sclerosis. To detect whether due to the multiple sclerosis the qualities of life change. If this would be the case then the goal is to reveal which aspects the changes affect. Another objective was to establish whether the life quality of multiple sclerosis patients decreases depending on the period of time since the diagnosis was made, that is on the duration of the disease. The theoretical part of the thesis is dedicated to describing the disease in general, signs, symptoms, prognosis, and treatment. I also deal with defining the term of life quality and its clarification, I also discuss the social-legal problems of the disease. The practical part of the thesis implements both qualitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative method included a semi-standardized interview. The quantitative method incorporated interrogative research using a SF-36 questionnaire about the quality of life conditioned by health. The information detected from the semi-standardized interview (the qualitative part) served as the basis for defining hypotheses for the quantitative part of the thesis. The following hypotheses were defined: H1: ``The quality of life in patients diagnosed with multiple sclerosis is lower than in the general population" and H2: "The quality of life in multiple sclerosis carriers decreases in correlation to the period of time since the diagnosis was made, that is on the duration of the disease.{\crqq} Chapter ``Results{\crqq} contains the established information.

Významné faktory kvality pracovního života z hlediska managementu v neziskovém sektoru / Significant factors of quality of working life in terms of management in the nonprofit sector

Jenšovská, Lucie January 2015 (has links)
This thesis deals with the issue of quality of work life (QWL), namely the important factors of QWL in terms of the management of non-governmental organizations (NGO). Perception of QWL has a positive effect on job satisfaction, personal well-being and job performance (its productivity and quality). The aim of this mapping study is to determine the important factors of QWL from the subjective perspective. Expert semistructured interviews were used for this purpose. The results indicate that the identified factors are identical with QWL mentioned by individual authors and institutions. The following factors were identified: absence of stress, interpersonal relationships in the workplace, support from the organization, evaluation of work, working environment. The positively evaluated factors include good relations in the workplace, need and utility of service, and self-actualization. The problematic working factors are financial conditions, obligations arising from the legislative framework, uncertainty about the sustainability of services, view of society and the low level of spatial facilities. The findings might become a contribution for organizations providing social services, be useful in easier implementation and support QWL factors, feelings of well-being at work, for selection of employees,...

Analýza úmrtnosti v 50., 60. a 70. letech 20. století v ČR / Analysis of Mortality in the Czech Republic in 1950s, 1960s and 1970s

Jičínský, Jaroslav January 2016 (has links)
Changes in mortality behavior in 1950s-1970s pose a fluctuation of Czech population's mortality trend and still have an impact on current level of life expectancy. The thesis focuses on mortality process in that period from cross-sectional and longitudinal approach and tries to identify how the mortality changes affected age intervals older than 30 and influenced cohorts which were in these age intervals in observed period. In the thesis Arriaga's decomposition method was used for quantification of mortality changes in particular age intervals and their affect on changes of life expectancy. The obtained results show that mostly age groups older than 60 were more sensitive to mortality fluctuations.

The Master's thesis focuses on the complexities of quality of work life and work engagement among education staff. Study in overweight / obese persons undergoing STOB basic intervention lasting 12 weeks, and covering 17 female participants. The intervention resulted in a significant effect on the quality of life, assessed using the following instruments: IWQOL-Lite, OWLQOL and WRSM. Changes in self-esteem and self-efficacy were also assessed in this population using the instruments: RSE and GSE, respectively. Statistical significance was not achieved in either of these cases, although a trend toward change could be seen according to RSE and GSE, respectively.
