Hátle, Petr January 2015 (has links)
The main topic of my thesis are audiovisual images of a new sort which spread across traditional media and internet video-sharing websites during the events of Arab revolutions in 2011. This amateur footage was made by direct participants of revolution events, not by professional journalist or documentarists. In my thesis I research these video-images in the context of imaging of political violence in the history with special focus on the history of war photography and journalism. My thesis investigates the role of new media and the internet in changes of the experience of watching audiovisual footage. Last part is an effort of classification of the amateur AV images of the Arab Spring and review of their significance in the context of contemporary documentary film and journalism.

Počátky sportovní žurnalistiky na stránkách periodického tisku na přelomu 19. a 20.století. Sport jako součást českého masového tisku / Beginnings of czech sport journalism at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. Sport as a part of czech press.

Lukšů, David January 2011 (has links)
This dissertation is the very first scholarly text to bring a wider perspective on the genesis of Czech sport journalism, starting with its beginnings in the latter half of the 1800's and extending to the year of 1918, when this profession became an independent branch of the newspaper business. Given the paucity of original literature, the present work is based primarily on the study of period newspapers and archival materials, employing mainly the direct and the indirect methods of historiography. The main purpose of it was to describe the formation of the discipline of sport journalism in the broader context of the Czech society, sports and media, rather than regarding it as an independent, isolated process. The constituent parts of this dissertation, which renders the dawn of Czech sport journalism, include the most important titles of the day as well as the key personalities in the publishing and journalism of the period, the issue of sport reportage within the established political press, and also the genesis of the professions of sport journalist and sport photographer. The chapters that place the main theme within a wider historical context compare the brief description of the evolution of sport journalism in the Czech lands to the origins of sport journalism in other countries (Great Britain, USA,...

In the last part, I describe the research itself, which I translated through a mixed analysis when I used both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Using a questionnaire survey, I perceived the perception of a fashion blogger from the viewpoint of its followers, their identification with the blogger's figure, but I also chose the supplementary question where I studied, whether the readers prefer fashion blogs or magazines and also the reason for their preferences. The results confirm the positive relationships of readers to the blogger, they consider him as an inspirational person who influences fashion trends, but also opinions on current topics. I see the added value of this diploma in revealing what readers think about bloggers and...

Role investigativní žurnalistiky v demokratické společnosti na příkladu Güntera Wallraffa / The Role of Investigative Journalism in a Democratic Society on the Example of Günter Wallraff

Hubeňáková, Monika January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the topic of investigative journalism in a democratic society, on the example of Günter Wallraff, a pioneer of German investigative journalists. His work and methods are controversial and questioned, so I focused on what ethical and legal obstacles his two selected works had to overcome. I chose two reports - Informationen aus dem Hinterland and Ganz unten, from the seventies and eighties of the twentieth century. Both reports were filmed with a hidden camera and were therefore not accepted by the public at first, but after the Federal Constitutional Court's decision, the hidden camera search method was just recognized if it leads to the detection of misstatements. To answer the research questions, I worked with period archival articles and secondary literature. I have connected concrete information from the articles with the knowledge from secondary literature. Reconstructing the link between the two works, the motive of the whole work was journalism as the fourth power in the state, which ensures respect for human rights and freedoms and thus contributes to the maintenance of a democratic society.
