本稿は、三国干渉後、盛んになりつつあった黄禍論を、当該期日本に置かれた時代状況に即して考察するものである。従来の研究では、黄禍論を三国干渉、義和団事件、日英同盟などの刺激的な外交事件と繋げて検討した上で、日本人の黄禍論批判を「反人種主義」の思想史的意義として捉えてきた。しかし本稿は、日本人の黄禍論批判を明治期における人種論の受容状況において考察し、黄禍論批判のなかに「人種差別主義」が既に含まれていたことを明らかにする。 / 博士(現代アジア研究) / Doctor of Philosophy in Contemporary Asian Studies / 同志社大学 / Doshisha University
