中西文化論戰的各種問題，歷年來在國內討論的不能算不多，然而似乎多不出口號或 隨感式的範圍。本論文的研究主旨，就是要對文星雜誌有關中西文化論戰的言論，作 一徹底的檢討，並予以批判。同時，將文星雜誌這場中西文化論爭，置於百年來中國 社會文化變遷史的歷史架構上，研究的範圍也觸及中國近代思想史上，有關中西文化 問題之言論。 全文共分五章，約七萬餘字。 第一章 為研究主旨與研究法及範圍。 第二章 探討中國近代思想史關於中西文化問題之言論。 第三章 進入主題，探討文星雜誌的中西文化論戰。 第四章 試從文化變遷觀點，對論戰觀點予以批判。 第五章 為結論。
