Modelování dynamiky buněčných kolonií / Modelling of Cell Colony Dynamics

Bělehrádek, Stanislav January 2017 (has links)
The content of the thesis is a description of intracellular processes responsible for cell cycle regulation and reactions of cells to external and internal stimuli. Thoroughly described are important signaling pathways with appropriate methods, which can be used to simulate them in silico. From these cellular processes, a cell cycle model is created and implemented in a tool programmed in C ++ with OpenGL used for visualization. The model is then tested for various cell processes including HeLa cells growth. Finally, the results are compared with the behavior of living cells.

Role mitochondrií a retrográdní signalizace při vývoji kvasinkových kolonií / Role mitochondria and retrograde signalization during development of yeast colony

Podholová, Kristýna January 2016 (has links)
Unicellular organisms such as yeast have been traditionally studied in shaken cultures, i.e., under condition in which they do not grow attached to solid surfaces as under natural conditions. In nature, cells only rarely live alone, but, on the other hand often create multicellular colonies or biofilms. During last years, yeasts started to be investigated also when grown on solid media. Our laboratory has previously developed special techniques for investigation of yeast colonies. These techniques allowed us to describe individual cell subpopulations within the colonies. The aim of this work was to prepare a series of mutant strains, describe morphology and ultrastructure of their colonies with the aim to contribute to understanding ofthe role of mitochondrial retrograde signalling pathway in the development of yeast colonies. This work describes expression of few selected genes (CIT2, RTG1, RTG2, and RTG3) in colonies of the parental strain BY4742 and of other mutant strains with deletion of one or more genes of RTG regulatory pathways. The results of the diploma thesis together with results of other authors became part of the publication (Podholová et al., 2016). Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Sichtbare Fremde.: Visuelle Aneignungen der deutschen Kolonien um 1900 aus sächsischer Perspektive.

Kliewer, Mario 24 May 2022 (has links)
Politika, hospodářství, kultura, vystěhovalectví a krajanské kolonie / Czechoslovak-Iranian relations 1918-1938. Politics, economy, culture, expatriates and communities

Jůnová Macková, Adéla January 2012 (has links)
The work deals with Czechoslovak-Iranian relations in the interwar period and reflects their political, cultural and in particular economic dimension. The entrepreneurial activities of Czechoslovak enterprises that managed to break into Iranian market represent the main theme of the work. The economic relations based primarily on foreign trade are examined within the context of political negotiations and the issue of expatriates. The case study explains the process of market penetration of Czechoslovak export companies into Iran and analyzes the activities of Société Iranienne Skoda within the context of factory (i.e. plant and equipment) orders and infrastructure development. The work focuses on penetration of Czechoslovak armament factories (Škodovy závody, ČKD and Zbrojovka Brno) into Iranian market. Czechoslovak export of munition became especially in the 1930s the main pillar of relations between Czechoslovakia and Iran. The export of armament into Iran comprised more than half of total Czechoslovak export into Iran.

Die Grenzregion als Kolonie?: Neue Perspektiven auf Bosnien-Herzegowina und Elsass-Lothringen (1871–1918)

Heckmann-Umhau, Philipp 28 April 2023 (has links)
What role, if any, did colonialism play in the history of Europe? To answer this question, scholars have increasingly turned to European border regions. These regions, whose ownership was disputed and often unstable, are excellent case studies for patterns of quasi-colonial rule within the confines of Europe. Historians of Austria-Hungary, especially, have argued that colonialism was by no means limited to overseas territories, but pertained also to the European continent. The occupied territories of Bosnia-Herzegovina, a border region on the fringes of the collapsing Ottoman empire, is one example. This article applies the criteria of postcolonial scholars to another European border region: Alsace-Lorraine. In its constitutional, administrative, economic and cultural status, this Franco-German borderland exhibits many characteristics of quasi-colonial rule that also applied in Bosnia-Herzegovina. But there are also important differences. In extending the question of inner-European colonialism from Bosnia-Herzegovina to Alsace-Lorraine, this article reflects on the applicability of a post-colonial perspective onto European border regions more generally. Such a perspective, it will be shown, has its merits as well as its risks. The emerging differences between quasi-colonial border regions like Bosnia-Herzegovina and Alsace-Lorraine, and overseas territories, are a testimony to the complexity and dynamism of colonialism. It is important not to preclude European border regions from postcolonial discourse on account of their geography alone.

Stínová kinematografie - Mytologie australského gotického filmu 70.let / Shadow Cinema - TheMythology of Australian gothic films in 1970s

Kotrlová, Jitka January 2015 (has links)
8 Univerzita Karlova v Praze Filozofická fakulta Katedra filmových studií Diplomová práce Jitka Kotrlová Stínová kinematografie: mytologie australského gotického filmu 70. let Shadow Cinematography: Mythology of the Australian Gothic Film of the 1970's Praha 2015 Vedoucí práce: PhDr. Petra Hanáková, Ph.D Abstract: The thesis focuses on the mythological aspects of films of the so-called Australia gothic in 1970's. In a detailed form of thematic analysis it discovers three fundamental myths within the gothic cycle which then examines the semiotic method of Roland Barthes. The first part is dedicated to the specific situation of the film industry and describes the principles of film funding. The second part is focused on the concept of national cinematography in relation to Australia. The third part is dedicated to the gothic imagination and definition of Australian gothic within the contemporary discourse. The fourth part focuses on the term "mythology". The main part of the thesis presents the three myths emerging from the cycle of Australian gothic films. The first one is the myth of the feeling of isolation that focuses on the meaning of an isolated man in the inland and on the alternation of this myth in the form of a person isolated in the society. On the examples of the films Walkabout (Nicholas Roeg,...

Vítkovice v éře budování státu. Příspěvek k sociálním dějinám / Vítkovice in the Era of State-building. The Contribution to Social History

Dvořák, Jakub January 2015 (has links)
The aim of the diploma thesis called "Vítkovice in the Era of State-Building. The Contribution to Social History" is to describe and analyse social relations and social interactions in Vítkovice in the twenties of the 20th century. It is focused on two main topics which were really important for society in Vítkovice in that period. The thesis consists of two chapters, which are: relation between nations and housing strategy. The dynamics of the society in Vítkovice is determined by the Vítkovice Ironworks. That is reason why company is such important part of the research field. Position of Vítkovice Ironworks was very influential because of connection between the company and the city. Whereas relations between nations were strained because of policy of the company, despite of housing crisis Ironwork's housing strategy helped to unify the society.
