Lifetime impact prediction of component modifications in axial piston units by the failure likelihood assessment

Baus, Ivan, Rahmfeld, Robert, Schumacher, Andreas, Pedersen, Henrik C. 26 June 2020 (has links)
In this paper, a new methodology is presented to estimate the lifetime impact of design changes, called Failure Likelihood Assessment (FLA). The discussion in this paper is on the fatigue lifetime prediction of axial piston units, especially after a design change. The demonstration object is an axial piston pump due to extreme environmental conditions and high specification demands, where the FLA is applied to a manufacturing change in an existing product and delivers an effect on the unit reliability. The resulted reliability imp rovement, if combined with typical calculation methods like Weibull analysis, delivers an increase in predicted lifetime considering the intended modification. As demonstration subje ct, a change of the manufacturing process of the cylinder block hub in an axial piston pump is used. The effect to the lifetime is predicted via the FLA-method and the results are calculated with test data and compared to theoretical results. The paper shows that the methodology delivers highly accurate results providing that the FLA is a powerful tool to analyze design changes as weil as new designs in regard to reliability and lifetime. The benefit for the user of this methodology will hence be more reliable products with optimized designs tobest fulfil customer's performance requirements.

Simulation-based system reliability analysis of electrohydraulic actuator with dual modular redundancy

Andreev, Maxim, Kolesnikov, Artem, Grätz, Uwe, Gundermann, Julia 26 June 2020 (has links)
This paper describes the failure detection system of an electro-hydraulic actuator with dual modular redundancy based on a hybrid twin TM concept. Hybrid twin TM is a combination of virtual twin that operates in parallel with the actuator and represents its ideal behaviour, and a digital twin that identifies possible failures using the sensor readings residuals. Simulation-based system reliability analysis helps to generate a dataset for training the digital twin using machine learning algorithms. A systematic failure detection approach based on decision trees and the process of analysing the quality of the result is described.

Louženská, Monika January 2013 (has links)
Monika LOUŽENSKÁ: The cycle of murals in Znojmo and problem of the development of czech monumental painting in 12th century in the context of Central Europe. The study developes the theme of foregoing bachelor's thesis, aimed on paintings in rotunda of St. Catherine in Znojmo, and deals with question of further development of Bohemian mural panting in 12th century. Currently known monuments of Czech mural from 12th century are decorations of churches of St. Catherine in Znojmo, St. Clement in Stará Boleslav, St. George on Prague castle, St. Peter in New Town in Prague and St. Peter and Paul in Albrechtice nad Vltavou. These paintings are related by its style resources and pictorial form also to murals from early 13th century in churches of St. Wenceslav in Prague on Prosek, Assumption of Virgin Mary in Tismice, St. Lawrence in Lesser Town in Prague, St. John and Paul in Krteň and St. Jacob in Stříbrná Skalice. The main part of thesis is dedicated to the analysis of particular paintings, with the using of iconographic method, formal analysis, elder literature about theme, restoration reports and other documentation. It deals with themes of murals and its style qualities and searches for its style resources, questions of dating and its donors. Important section is focused on historical context of...

Caesar, Konstantin, Karl und Friedrich

Kloskowski, Irina 02 February 2011 (has links)
With regard to the construction of sense in the Chronicle of Emperors, an inherent didactic concept can be detected. New presentation techniques of the literary medium of the 12th century like a hero`s two-fold adventure pathway to maturity allow for more complex views of the well-known Caesar tales. On the other hand, dialogue is still dominant as a rhetorical means as structure and narration of the Charlemagne and the Constantine tales disclose. As a final aspect, the Continuatio, the first Bavarian continuation of the Chronicle of Emperors, is under scrutiny. The progressive concept of intertextuality concentrates on the new text, not entirely ignoring the original text, but rather embedding old context in new surroundings.

Une fenêtre sur Palerme entre le IXe et la première moitié du XIIe siècle : étude du matériel céramique provenant de deux fouilles archéologiques menées dans le quartier de la Kalsa / A window on Palermo between the 9th and the first half of the 12th century : study on the pottery coming from two archaeological excavations conduced in the Kalsa district

Sacco, Viva 01 July 2016 (has links)
This thesis deals with a series of thematic related to the production and circulation of pottery in Palermo during the 9th-12th centuries. In particular this research focuses on the unpublished ceramics found during the archaeological excavations in “Santa Maria degli Angeli” Church, known as “Gancia”, and in the Bonagia palace, both situated along the Alloro street in the Kalsa area, where during the Fatimid period rose up the palatine city called al-Ḫāliṣa (937). The main aim of this project is to offer a more systematic and larger picture of the pottery productions circulating in Palermo between the 9th and the first half of 12th century, facing the methodological problems set by their study and proposing new chrono-typologies. The interpretation of these data has allowed us to use the ceramics as an historical source, able to offer partial but new information related to the topographic evolution of the city of Palermo, to the social changes and to the commercial dynamics it went through.

Le mariage et la maternitâe chez Marie de France

Unknown Date (has links)
Twelfth century French feudal culture witnesses the codification of new marriage laws and a rapid rise in popularity of the Cult of the Virgin Mary, with correspondingly renewed attention being paid to women by ecclesiastical intellectuals of all sects. Of particular interest to these churchmen was the duty of the medieval wife to bear children. The Lais of Marie de France, a late twelfth-century text, often focus explicitly on motherhood (both biological and symbolic) and therefore allow a deeper examination of the new cultural representations of women in the dual role of spouse and mother. The Lais further highlight the symbolic role of the child as guarantor both of a woman's social value and of the validity of the love relationship based on the tenets of fin'amors instead of formal marriage. / by Danielle Firmino Palazzolo. / Abstract in English. / Thesis (M.A.)--Florida Atlantic University, 2009. / Includes bibliography. / Electronic reproduction. The Happening of Tradition : Vallabha on Anumāna in Nyāyalīlāvatī

Sjödin, Anna-Pya January 2006 (has links)

The present dissertation is a translation and analysis of the chapter on anumāna in Vallabha’s Nyāyalīlāvatī, based on certain theoretical considerations on cross-cultural translation and the understanding of tradition. Adopting a non-essentialized and non-historicist conceptualization of the Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika/Navya-nyāya tradition, the work focuses on a reading of the anumāna chapter that is particularized and individualized. It further argues for a plurality of interpretative stances within the academic field of Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika/Navya-nyāya studies, on the grounds that the dominant stance has narrowed the scope of research. With reference to post-colonial theory, this dominant stance is understood in terms of a certain strategy called “mimetic translation”.

The study of the anumāna chapter consists of three main interpretational sections: translation, comments, and analysis. The translation and comments focus on understanding issues internal to the Nyāyalīlāvatī. The analysis focuses on a contextual interpretation insofar as the text is understood through reading other texts within the Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika/Navya-nyāya discourse. The analysis is further grounded in a concept of intertextuality in that it identifies themes, examples, and arguments appearing in other texts within the discourse. The analysis also identifies and discusses Cārvāka and Mīmāṁsaka arguments within the anumāna chapter.

Two important themes are discerned in the interpretation of the anumāna chapter: first, a differentiation between the apprehension of vyāpti and the warranting of this relation so as to make the apprehension suitable for a process of knowledge; second, that the sequential arrangement of the subject matter of the sections within the chapter, vyāptigraha, upādhi, tarka, and parāmarśa, reflects the process of coming to inferential knowledge.

The present work is a contribution to the understanding of the post-Udayana and pre-Gaṅgeśa Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika/Navya-nyāya discourse on inferential knowledge and it is written in the hope of provoking more research on that particular period and discourse in the history of Indian philosophies.
