  • The Global ETD Search service is a free service for researchers to find electronic theses and dissertations. This service is provided by the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations.
Our metadata is collected from universities around the world. If you manage a university/consortium/country archive and want to be added, details can be found on the NDLTD website.

I. A search for organic compounds as colorimetric quantitative reagents for inorganic ions ; II. A study of the reaction between 2 acetamino 6 amino benzo thiazole and chloroiridic acid

Noell, Jesse Roland January 1940 (has links)
The reaction between 2 acetamino 6 amino benzo thiazole and chloroiridio acid is not sensitive enough to be of importance as a colorimetric quantitative reaction. IrCl₆-- can be detected with this organic compound if iridium is present in as much as 0.02 mg. per ml. of solution providing ferric iron is absent. If ruthenium is present it must be removed before the test for the iridium anion can be made. / M.S.

A study of the binary systems salicylic acid-biphenyl and salicylic acid-diphenylamine

Marsh, Lloyd Russell January 1940 (has links)
1. From a study of the system salicylic acid-biphenyl it was concluded that there was no compound formation in the system. The solution is very nearly ideal, having an eutectic temperature of 67.6℃ at a mole fraction of .903 for the biphenyl. 2. The system salicylic acid-diphenylamine was studied and no compound formation was found to be present. The system and no compound formation was found to be present. The system is not as ideal as the salicylic acid-biphenyl system, but follows the ideal solution curve fairly well. The system has an eutectic temperature of 48.5℃ at .926 mole fraction of diphenylamine. / M.S.

The marital expectancies of 250 college students

Hankla, Margaret L. 07 July 2010 (has links)
The students were most willing to change the expectancies associated with such factors as the carrying over of the parental family patterns into their marital home, social situations, the spouse being good looking and having the habit of smoking. They were least willing to change their expectancies relative to the mate's honest, desire for children, and interest in sex factors. / Master of Science

Investigation of the principles of rapid soil tests for available potash and other plant nutrients of Virginia soils

Brandt, C. S. 11 May 2010 (has links)
From the data presented, the probable fertility level of the various soils were estimated upon the basis of the crop yield. / Master of Science

A study of the practicability of the photometer method in making soil loss measurements

Fleshman, William Turner 07 July 2010 (has links)
The following conclusions may be drawn from this investigation: (1) The photometer is an accurate and dependable device for measuring light absorption by turbid soil and water solutions when the soil particles are of nearly constant size. The tests made with the soil that had passed through a 100-mess sieve proved this fact, also, the tests made with the composite soil gave vary accurate results. (2) the composite runoff soil samples from the three slopes must have contained particles of approximately the same size. This is shown by the accuracy of the results obtained with this soil. / Master of Science
