It based in how this context interferes in the teacher s action. The theoretical reference adopted the theory critical, especially form Adorno. The research shows that the Physical Education and its teachers have been pushed to search immediate results, which attend the capital interests, based on what is established by the Culture Industry, although, it points also possibilities of transformation by the teacher s action / O trabalho discute como a Educação Física é influenciada pelo Pragmatismo e pela Indústria Cultural na modernidade. Centra-se em como este contexto interfere na ação do professor. O referencial teórico adotado é a teoria crítica, sobretudo de Adorno. A pesquisa teórica demonstra que a Educação Física e seus professores têm sido pressionados na busca por resultados imediatos, que atendam aos interesses do capital, pautados no que é estabelecido pela Indústria Cultural, porém, aponta também possibilidades de transformação pela ação do professor.
