ADHD och fetma hos vuxna personer : En litteraturstudie

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to describe various methods of treatment and effects of treatment of ADHD, and to investigate wheater there is an association between adults with ADHD and obesity. Method:  Literature review. Twelve quantitative scientific articles were found in the data bases PubMed, Cinahl and MedLine.  Result: ADHD is a cognitive impairment that can lead to serious complications such as obesity. Studies show that drug treatments of adults with ADHD have positive effects in terms of reduced symptoms, increased efficiency and improved quality of life, but drugs can also cause side effects in form of loss of appetite and insomnia. For adults with ADHD and obesity drugs that affect metabolism have a significant impact on patients ability to lose weight. At the same time the need for counselling to implement lifestyle changes is considerable. Cognitive-behavioral group therapy has in studies shown long-term improvements and is a successful method in the treatment of adults with ADHD. Conclusion: The studies show that it is important to examine and treat patients with ADHD. Preventative measures with focus on lifestyle changes such as increasing physical activity and changing dietary habits are necessary to avoid serious sequelae as obesity. Attending nurses needs knowledge about treatment of ADHD and new disease prevention methods as motivational interviewing (MI) to help this group of patients.   Keywords: ADHD, adult, treatment, obesity

Rytmisk rörelseträning som alternativ insats : Föräldrar till barn med neuropsykiatriska funktionsnedsättningar gör ett val.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur föräldrar till barn med neuropsykiatriska funktionsnedsättningar upplever deras möjligheter när det gäller val av insats till deras barn. Ambitionen var huvudsakligen att utforska varför de gör valen som de gör och varför en specifik behandlingsform är tilltalande för dem. För att nå det empiriska resultatet, intervjuades fyra föräldrar som valt Rytmisk rörelseträning som insats för deras barn. Intressanta fynd i resultatet var att föräldrarna var emot behandling med medicin, vilket var orsaken till att de sökte sig till en alternativ metod. Det professionella bemötandet visade sig även vara av stor vikt för val av insats. / Title: Rhythmic Movement Training as an alternative treatment –Parents to children with neuropsychiatric disabilities making a choice. The aim of the study was to investigate how parents to children with neuropsychiatric disabilities experience their opportunities when it comes to choosing treatment for their children. The quest was mainly to explore why they make the choice the way they do and why a specific treatment seem appealing to them. To reach the empirical result, interviews were made with four parents who chosen Rhythmic Movement Training as a treatment for their children. Interesting founds in the result was that the parents were against treatment by medicine, which was the reason they aimed for an alternative method. The professional approach also seemed like an important point in the choice of treatment.

This is a sub-study project on the effect of ADHD on selected mental functioning, life skills and quality of life of clients recovering from addiction in therapeutic communities (Miovský et al ., 2014), which aims, among other things, describe the negative effects of ADHD on the treatment process in the therapeutic community. The incidence of ADHD symptoms in the treatment of methamphetamine dependence is a major complication of treatment. The aim of this thesis is to describe methamphetamine sub-group specifics in the research sample, their assessment in the TC's treatment process and ADHD diagnosis specifity in this group, constitutes up to 70 % of all treatment demand clients (Mravčík, et al., 2014). The method used for data acquisition are: questionnaire, test, interview, observation, computerization of data (IBM SPSS Statistics 20 was used). For data analysis was used descriptive statistics (descriptive and mathematical-statistical analytical processing). Qualitative data were analyzed by using method of clustering, text coloring and simple enumeration. The research sample consisted oh 116 respondents (83 men and 32 women) aged 16-47 years.
