The cycle of ten pieces of Jorge Andrade has, among many goals, the nationalization of Brazilian drama and give to marginalized voice, understanding them as an integral part of the story . The interpretative study 's main theoretical basis for the study of Brazilian dramaturgy Anatol Rosenfeld, Sabato Magaldi, Decio de Almeida Prado, Jo?o Roberto Faria, Mario Guidarini and for the study of symbolic Gaston Bachelard , Gilbert Durand, Mircea Eliade, Carl G. Jung, Pierre Bourdieu among others. The playwright chooses, among its main symbols , a symbol of freedom that is Marta to tell about the cycle and to fight for faceless . The tree, which not only is the genealogy, but also the connection with the transcendent, protection and life. And the clock without hands that refers to the time stopped in the air, the struggle of man against time and against history , which is always told from the viewpoint dominant and exclusionary. The way how Andrade sewing the history of Brazil, the various symbols present in his work and the genealogy of his characters reveal one of the greatest geniuses of Brazilian theater . / Esta disserta??o analisa a simbologia na obra Marta, a ?rvore e o rel?gio de Jorge Andrade, a fim de compreender a liga??o simb?lica utilizada entre as pe?as do ciclo, bem como perceber se o dramaturgo utilizou os s?mbolos da maneira convencional ou atribuiu novos sentidos aos mesmos. O ciclo de dez pe?as de Jorge Andrade tem, entre muitos objetivos, a nacionaliza??o do drama brasileiro bem como dar voz aos marginalizados, compreendendo-os como parte integrante da hist?ria. O estudo interpretativo tem como bases te?ricas principais para o estudo da dramaturgia brasileira Anatol Rosenfeld, S?bato Magaldi, D?cio de Almeida Prado, Jo?o Roberto Faria, M?rio Guidarini e para o estudo do simb?lico Gaston Bachelard, Gilbert Durand, Mircea Eliade, Carl G. Jung, Pierre Bourdieu entre outros. O dramaturgo escolhe, dentre os seus s?mbolos principais, um s?mbolo de liberdade que ? Marta para contar o ciclo e para lutar pelos sem rosto. A ?rvore, que n?o s? representa a genealogia, mas tamb?m a liga??o com o transcendente, a prote??o e a vida. E orel?gio sem ponteiros que remete ao tempo parado no ar, ? luta do homemcontra o tempo e contra a hist?ria, que ? sempre contada pela ?tica dominante e excludente. A forma como Andrade costura a hist?ria do Brasil, os diversos s?mbolos presentes na sua obra e a ?rvore geneal?gica das suas personagens revelam um dos maiores g?nios da dramaturgia brasileira.
