Geology of the Alice Arm Molybdenum Prospect : Skeena Mining District, Alice Arm, British Columbia

Drummond, Arthur Darryl January 1961 (has links)
The composite Lime Creek stock outcrops on the Alice Molybdenum Prospect, six miles southeast of Alice Arm on the northern coast of British Columbia. An aureole of biotite hornfels was developed in the surrounding Jurassic Hazelton group by the intrusion. Within the composite stock, intrusive relationships suggest the following sequence: Lime Creek granodiorite, Lime Creek quartz diorite, East quartz diorite, alaskite, granodiorite porphyry and its related breccia. Phenocrysts in the granodiorite porphyry are resorbed quartz, zoned potash feldspar and zoned plagioclase. Reverse followed by normal zoning is present in the feldspar phenocrysts. A history of water vapor pressure fluctuations from initially high to low and then to high again is suggested by correlating the various zones in both feldspars. The increasing water vapor pressure finally exceeded the confining pressure and produced an explosion breccia. Hornblende Lamprophyre dykes cut both the rocks of the Lime Creek stock and strata of the Hazelton group. North of the prospect, the Tertiary (?) noselite trachyte of Table Mountain overlies the Hazelton group. The intrusion is intimately veined by a quartz stockwork in which molybdenite, pyrite, galena, sphalerite, scheelite and many other minerals are found. Sparse amounts of an unknown grey, bladed lead-copper-bismuth-silver sulphosalt were found in a drusy quartz vein. Single crystal rotation and Weissenberg photographs indicate that the unit cell is monoclinic with a = 37.5Å, b = 4.07Å, c = 41.6Å and β = 96.8°. / Science, Faculty of / Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, Department of / Graduate

Klusáček, Jan January 2012 (has links)
This paper deals with desgin and implementation of hardware and software for data acquisition device. Device is based on single board computer FoxBoard G20 which is placed on custom board which provide RS485 interface and short-term UPS. Device is runing Linux with device driver which enabling communication with Micropel PLCs across RS485 bus. Data are read from PLCs are saved to database and afterwards presented to user via web interface.

Untersuchung des Therapieprinzips "Damage Control Orthopaedics" an Verletzungen der oberen Extremität bei polytraumatisierten Patienten / Investigation of the therapy concept ‘damage control orthopaedics’ at upper extremity injuries of polytraumatised patients

Hische, Sophie Luisa Hella January 2022 (has links) (PDF)
The following thesis is analysing the concepts „early total care“ (ETC) and „damage control orthopeadics“ (DCO) treating 90 polytraumatised patients with upper extremity injuries of the university hospital of Würzburg. Following the first hit (trauma), a second hit (prolonged operation) can overwhelm the compensatory mechanisms of the immune system. Therefore, the principle of DCO is to reduce the impact of the second hit by minimal initial procedures. Several criteria relevant to the initial decision between the two therapy concepts are analysed. In case of high injury severity (ISS), cardio-pulmonary deficiencies, low RISC II survival prognosis and a more severe head, abdomen, hip and spine injury, the upper extremity injury is mostly treated by DCO. In addition, DCO is favoured for complex injuries of the upper limb with joint and band damages or severe tissue damage requiring prolonged procedures with intensive preparing and planning . When the patient can be positioned favourably during the initial treatment, the upper limb extremity is treated by ETC, especially in case of a severe upper limb injury. The negative outcome of the DCO patients is primarily due to the higher ISS in this cohort. By showing that the real mortality rate is lower than its prognosis, DCO can be considered as a successful concept. However, this thesis cannot find prove that ETC shows any disadvantages as the results also show positive outcomes for ETC-patients.
