January 2006 (has links)
Orientador: Elson Luciano Silva Pires / Banca: Ricardo Toledo Neder / Banca: Maria Monica Arroyo / Abstract: The Metropolitan Accumulation of Curitiba faces a new reality characterized for the insertion to the local economies of great groups in the dynamic sectors, especially to the automobile industry, segment of light vehicles. This process reflects the current phase global of territorial expansion of the capitalist relations, with accented transformation of the innovations social techniques and of production and of the organization modes standards of the local space. The insertion of the Economic Group in a new territory obeys a new organization mode dynamics and of relations where the place also if detaches, constructing strategical agreements that provoke significant changes in the relations between Group and territory. The thematic central office of this work is to understand and to analyze the relation between the sector (automobile - Grupo Renault) and the territory (AMC - Agglomerated Metropolitan of Curitiba), its construction dynamic and crumbling dynamic. A new dynamics of industrial centerless and permanence of the sectors in the place has been broken of the central hypothesis of that the global processes that characterize a new economic phase reflect in the relation between the Economic Groups and the territory, imposing. From this idea it was analyzed influence of the global processes in the organization of the industries, as well as the relations that if process between the Economic Group and the territory, having itself in sight the local dynamics of the auto industries and the competitiveness between the places. Therefore, the characterization of the territorial dynamics of the automobile industry (genesis, determinative and displacements) in the world became excellent, specifying itself the new territories of this sector in Brazil and exposing the logics of localization in the AMC (the new territoriality imposed for the auto industry and its impacts for the local development)...
Submitted by Marcelo Teixeira (mvteixeira@ucs.br) on 2014-07-10T13:30:09Z

The objective of the application of TO was to minimize the Wheel Hub mass meeting the application requirements. This work employs experimental validation of structural analysis, where the differences between the measured and calculated values were considered satisfactory, therefore, the way performing the discretization of the system and the choice of instrumentation points based on the principal stresses directions and low gradient were essential. The optimized Wheel Hub was also submitted to the fatigue test (SAE 11095) as a criterion for approval of the prototype, where the optimized component was considered approved.

Submitted by Ana Guimarães Pereira (agpereir@ucs.br) on 2016-08-09T17:47:35Z

Previous issue date: 2016-08-09 / Recent studies carried out on Supply Chains suggest that companies should manage, in a dynamic manner, the various types of supply chains in order to meet the different types of buying behavior of their customers. While some chains require quick, adaptable and distributed flows, others need steady and centralized frameworks. In this sense, the issue lies in the existence of an alignment between the framework proposed by Gattona in supply chains and which types of strategy combination provide better performance in supply chains. To carry out the study, supply chains of automotive companies in Brazil – representing those engaged in the chain governance - have been analyzed. The study is relevant, since the proposed approach is innovative and demonstrates how important it is for companies to meet the different needs of their clients by aligning supply chains to purchase profiles and to the dynamism of the market. By means of a survey, backed by quantitative information – through a questionnaire consisting of eight blocks of questions - this study proposes to examine the connection with multiple variables in order to examine if there is a relationship between the framework presented by the Generic Supply Chains` approach (Gattoma, 2009;2010) and five performance indicators. The study aims to examine which dimensions of Gattoma`s approach provide better performance to companies engaged in supply chains, by means of the dynamic alignment framework: market, business strategies, organizational culture and leadership style. As a result, the study presents a conceptual matrix relating strategies in the Supply Chain with performance indicators; identifies companies` positions and which positions are related to better performance by companies ranked as Supply chains.

Appreciative inquiry and change management in a selected automotive component factory in Cape Town, South AfricaLott-Cupido, Terine January 2015 (has links)
Thesis (MTech (Human Resource Management))--Cape Peninsula University of Technology, 2016. / Globalisation has placed increased pressure on South African organisations to transform in order to compete against the world’s best. Low cost manufacturing countries such as India, China, Brazil, and Thailand pose a threat to businesses across a variety of sectors in South Africa. The prospects of failure are real, even more so in light of the current economic climate in which businesses operate, as competition is on the rise. In today’s world of work, change is constant and organisations are required to continually renew their business and practices in order to meet the evolving needs of their clients. An organisation’s inability to phase out strategies, policies, procedures and businesses that are no longer relevant may shorten the lifespan of the business. Successful management of organisational change processes is thus essential for survival in the global market.
This research was prompted as a result of production line employees being resistant to the implementation of new work procedures between 2013 and 2014, with the result of low commitment to change, at a selected medium sized automotive component manufacturer in Cape Town, South Africa.
Traditional change management considers fixing problems and may be outdated, especially in light of the introduction of Appreciative Inquiry (AI). AI is a structured change intervention that uses positively directed questions. AI attempts to involve people to share their experiences of what worked well in the past in order to create a shared vision and an action plan that can be implemented to realise their set vision. AI has created a shift in thinking in change management, as it seeks to find the positive, whilst creating hope and a sense of triumph over past victories.

Sem títuloMauro Zilbovicius 08 December 1987 (has links)
This thesis deals with the process by which micro-electronics-based automation Technologies are introduced into an automobile factory located in Brazil but affiliated with a transnational firm. The analysis attempts to explain the logic and strategy of the incorporation of the new technology by means of an understanding of the role and the extent of the activity of the local engineering directed to the implementation of such technological changes. Two basic conceptual matrices direct the study: the model proposed by Almeida (1981) for the understanding of the mexus Engineering-Technology-Manufacturing and that of Kaplinsky (1985) for the characterization of the different types of automation. Taking into consideration the conceptual models adopted and the current technological state-of-the-art in the automobile industry, the study gives a description of the technological innovations introduced into the plant and of the process of operation of local engineering. In addition, the paper presents an analysis of the flow of information from outsides the plant and of the decision-making processes linked to the technological choice. Three aspects were considered to be relevant to the understanding of the process of change: the global technological level of the automobile industry, the particular strategy of the group to which the firm belongs, and the local conditions of the factory to be modernized. Taking into account these factors, it was observed that the changes were introduced incrementally and that the firm followed the same path as that of the head office but out of phase with and at a slower rate than the latter. As far as the engineering sector was concerned, it was observed that this a relative autonomy in decision-making, remaining subject to restrictions arising from the three factors listed above. On the other hand, the working processes of engineering depend largely on informal relationship with the engineering
