Řezání vodním paprskem / Cutting of Water Jet

The work developed in the master's program, describes the technology of water jet cutting. The theoretical part deals with the description of this technology and it explains the basic concepts used in this field. The practical part was designed to verify some theoretical knowledge. Therefore, several experiments were performed, while there was studied the influence of abrasives on the final quality of the surface and the level of the generated noise. The practical part was completed by the production of the selected component and its technical and economic evaluation.

L’industrie aéronautique nécessite l’utilisation de métaux durs et légers, comme le Titane et l’Inconel mais différentes problématiques d’usinage en fraisage ou par usinage chimique compliquent leur mise en oeuvre. L’objectif du travail de thèse est de développer une méthode d’usinage non débouchant de ces métaux durs par jet d’eau abrasif (JEA) pour la réalisation de poches. Actuellement, ce procédé est limité à la découpe mais en contrôlant les paramètres d’usinage il permet la réalisation de poches à profondeurs constante ou variable en maitrisant les caractéristiques géométriques imposées. Ce travail présente l’étude de passages élémentaires et leur superposition afin de générer un parcours nécessaire à la réalisation d’une poche. Il introduit également diverses stratégies pour l’usinage de poches rectangulaires et propose une correction des paramètres opératoires afin d’obtenir un fond à profondeur contrôlée. / The aviation industry requires the use of hard and light metals such as Titanium and Inconel, but different machining problems in milling process or by chemical machining complicate their implementation. The aim of this thesis is to develop a controlled depth milling on these hard metals with abrasive water jet (AWJ) technology for pockets machining. Currently, this process is limited to cutting operation but by controlling the input parameters and the geometric characteristics it allows the realization of pockets with constant or variable depth. This work shows the study of elementary passages and their superposition to generate a necessary path for the realization of a pocket in AWJ. It also introduces a variety of strategies for machining rectangular pockets and provides a correction of the operating parameters to obtain a controlled depth.

O presente trabalho descreve a utilização do jato d\'água abrasivo como ferramenta de gravação em ladrilhos de Mármore Branco de Cachoeiro de Itapemirim e em placas de vidro plano comum. São apresentadas as variações de desempenho do processo de gravação, assim como as várias geometrias de ranhuras obtidas com a variação de diversos parâmetros do equipamento. Os resultados da gravação em diversas amostras foram digitalizadas e fotografadas. Além disso apresenta o resultado da gravação, em mármore e vidro de um desenho de geometria complexa. Finalmente discussões e conclusões a respeito dos resultados obtidos são apresentadas. / The current thesis describes the use of abrasive water jet as an etching tool in Branco de Cachoeiro de Itapemirim Marble plate and in float glass plate. Etching process performance variations are introduced as well as different kerf geometries obtained with variation of many processes parameters. The results of the etching in several samples have been photographed and scanned. Furthermore the results of the etching of a complex drawing in marble and glass is shown. Finally conclusions and discussions over the achieved results are described.

After these chapters is introduced machine equipment of water jet cutting technology. At the end of this theoretical part are listed advantages and comparison with other unconventional technologies. In the practical part is solved design of machinery with regard to manufacturing technology of component flange in series 630 000 pieces per year. Last chapter describes economic evaluation of production.

This thesis presents a design technology of forming a shaped lid focused on cutting, bending, drawing, as well as trimming and making the required holes. There is described several basic variants of sheet metal forming based on the literature. Production of holes of specified cover, for an annual production of 100 pieces of shaped lid, is solved by unconventional technologies. From subsequent economic evaluation of selected technologies is chosen an appropriate technology to minimize production costs.

Another part is focused on deploying technology 3D cutting with abrasive water jet in conditions of a medium-sized company. This technology allows the elimination of bevels, and angel cutting. The following sections deal with technological capabilities of the specific machine and experimental comparison of samples cut by AWJ and DWJ technology. The work also includes a sample layout of machines on existing premises, the proposal for a potential component base and economic evaluation.
