The Development of a Wellness Instrument to Predict the Use of Accident and Health Insurance

Hess, Dixie Lee Cooley 08 1900 (has links)
The problem with which this study was concerned is that of developing an instrument for predicting the use of accident and health insurance. The purposes of the study were to translate selected theoretical descriptions of wellness into discrete components of behavior, to develop a valid and reliable self-report instrument, and to determine the correlation between wellness behaviors and a person's use of accident and health insurance. Content validity was established by a panel of judges, each of whom was selected on the basis of professional concern for the areas of interest in health contained in the instrument. The original instrument of fifty-five items was increased by three items resulting in a fifty-eight item instrument, which was then approved by each of five judges.

Analýza uzavřených smluv životního pojištění / Analysis of life insurance policies

POSPÍŠILOVÁ, Jana January 2014 (has links)
Everyone's life is threatened by many risks that we try to eliminate them or to reduce their consequences. These risks are unexpected so we do not know when they strikes and change our lives. Some risks either directly affect our own lives or the lives of our beloved, or the standard of living of our loved ones. In my thesis, I will focus on the risks associated with injury or civilisation disease that often bring, apart from health complications, also financial problems due to the decline of employment income. To minimize the impacts of the income decline, most people pay for various financial products. Most often, they effect some type of life insurance. In my work, I will introduce basic principles of insurance, types of insurance focusing above all on life insurance. Using questionnaires, I will try to identify how many people have or have not effected any type of life insurance, what type of life insurance people usually effect, whether the risks which could threaten them would be covered by particular insurance according to their needs. I will also set several hypotheses and I will test them statistically to obtain relevant and valid answers.

Vývoj pojištění majetku obyvatelstva na českém pojistném trhu / Development of property insurance for citizens in the Czech Republic

Kopecká, Kamila January 2017 (has links)
The master thesis analyzes the property insurance for citizens in the Czech Republic with main focus on buildings insurance, household insurance, and accident insurance for non-rail vehicles. The goal of this thesis is to analyze the development of insurance market indicators of the products stated above and to predict their future behavior. To help with the understanding of the practical part, basic terminology and trends in the general insurance market are included in this work. The main indexes to be analyzed are: premium written, claims paid, loss ratio, number of contracts made, average written premium per contract, number of claims settled, average written premium per insured event, and the number of commercial insurance companies. The main data sources for time series analysis for the period between the years 1997 and 2015 are the annual reports of the Czech Insurance Association. The time series analysis showed that building insurance and household insurance are strongly affected by natural disasters - in the Czech Republic the main impact have floods. Since the main purpose of the accident insurance is to cover accidents, it is only partially impacted by natural disasters. The popularity of property insurance has an increasing tendency, which is shown by the insurance market indicators. Box-Jenkins methodology was used to forecast the future development of the insurance market. Similarly to other insurance products, the property insurance undergoes certain changes, to which the insurance companies must respond. These trends are mainly connected to the higher usage of modern technologies - for instance Internet of Things, introduction of Smart Homes or the ,,Pay How-You-Drive'' insurance.
