ABSTRACT The primary goal of this study is to examine the reason of conflict between the administrative personnel and the teachers¡¦association; and the relationship among the modes of conflictive management, the reason of conflict, and the strategy of conflictive management. Firstly, the relevant literatures concerning the reason of conflict and the strategy of conflictive management at the schools were collected, reviewed, and analyzed. Secondly, the procedure of the study was presented and a questionnaire was designed. A pilot study was conducted and then the questionnaire was developeded. The subjects included 778 administrative personnel chosen from 51 public elementary schools through stratified random sampling. In this study, 644 copies of questionnaire were collected, and the total valid copies were 600. The percentage of questionnaire was as high as 85.7%. Following that, the statistic methods including descriptive analyses, t-test, one-way ANOVA, randomized block design ANOVA, and Pearson correlation were applied to analyze the data. The major findings of this study are as follows: 1. With respect to the reasons of conflict between the administrative personnel and the teachers¡¦association, uncertain responsibilities is the most common variables, the unequal distribution of interests and bad communication the second, and different values the least. 2. The strategies used to cope with the conflict between the administrative personnel and the teachers¡¦ association were collaboration, compromise, competition, accommodation, and few avoidance. 3. The reasons of the conflict between the administrative personnel and the teachers¡¦ association were different in some parts with the background variables. 4. The strategies used to cope with the conflict between the administrative personnel and the teachers¡¦ association were different in some parts with the background variables. 5. The correlation between the administrative personnel¡¦s perception of the conflict and the strategies they use was significantly related. Based on the findings mentioned above, some suggestions are proposed as the following: 1. The educational authorities should enhance principals¡¦ leading skills and assist the teachers¡¦ associations at schools in developing and performing appropriately. 2. The school leaders should facilitate the opportunities of communication between the administrative personnel and teachers. Moreover, the clear demarcation of the staff¡¦s responsibility and the methods to solve the conflict should be made as well. 3. The administrative personnel should improve their skills in communication. In addition, the collaboration between the administrative personnel and the teachers¡¦ association should also be promoted. 4. For further studies, some other suggestions regarding the subjects, research methods, and research variables are proposed. Key words: elementary school, administrative personnel, conflictive reason, strategy of conflictive management

Hur en organisationskultur kan se ut i en sportorganisation : - En kvalitativ studie om Karlskronas Hockeyklubbs administrativa personals potentiella kultur / How organizational culture can look like in sport organizations : A qualitative study about how Karlskrona Hockey Club’s administrative personnel’s potential culture

Karlsson, Michelle, Rydberg, Johanna January 2016 (has links)
Authors: Michelle Karlsson and Johanna Rydberg Titel: How organizational culture can look like in sport organizations – A qualitative study about how Karlskrona Hockey Club’s administrative personnel’s potential culture. This study is written because of the reason that today’s sport organizations have become more like traditional and profitable businesses, which makes the administrative personnel work more important for the organizations. Earlier studies have been made, but the focus is on the players or the members in the organization and also on their development. We want to concentrate this essay on the administrative personnel’s potential culture and their contribution to the organization. Our research questions are 1) How does the administrative personnel’s work look like in a sport organization from a cultural perspective?, and 2) If, and which, culture pursues sport organizations and the administrative personnel? To answer these questions we have used theories from Edgar H. Schein and Mats Alvesson, who are leading cultural scholars. We turned to Karlskronas Hockey Club as a case study where we made six individual interviews and general observations that became our empirical basis. The chosen theories and the collected empirical data were later interconnected and used for further analysis. The main conclusion of our analysis, based on the theories, is that sport organizations culture are dependent on what context and state the organization is in. In our case study Karlskrona’s Hockey Club is a relatively new organization with a lot of new employed people who influence the culture. The theories, taken from Alvesson and Schein, explain the effects when new people get employed. The culture that exists among the administrative personnel is therefore under consistent development and has a hard time finding stability. Nowadays sport organizations need to focus on the budget and economy to survive, but profit isn’t the main purpose. People working in sport organizations are driven by commitment and interest for the sport and members in the organization.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of school leaders&rsquo / individual differences on educational and general ideologies in primary schools and kindergartens, in Mersin province, Turkey. The study aims to find out whether there are differences in educational and general ideologies in terms of school leaders&rsquo / gender, academic degree, and the number of in-service training that they have participated. Quantitative method and a causal-comparative research design were used in this study. All primary and kindergarten school principals were the target population of the study. Survey method was used and a questionnaire which composes of two sections / demographics and Educational Ideologies Inventory (EII) were applied in this study. The questionnaires were distributed to 456 school leaders and 265 of them responded the survey. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were made by SPSS version 15.0 program. The results of descriptive statistical analysis showed that school leaders have an inclination to liberalism in both educational and general ideologies. 35.2% of the school leaders had educational conservative ideologies (fundamentalism, intellectualism, and conservatism) and 64.8% of them had educational liberal ideologies (liberalism, liberationalism, and anarchism). In addition, 33.6% of the school leaders were general conservative and 66.4% were general liberal. Multivariate Analysis of Variances (MANOVA) was conducted to find out any difference in educational and general ideologies of school leaders in terms of gender academic degree and the number of in-service training that they have participated. The results showed that gender and the number of in-service training that school leaders have participated did not create a difference in school leaders&rsquo / educational and general ideologies. However, the results of this study revealed that academic degree of school leaders lead to a difference in educational ideologies of them. Consequently, the results of this study contribute to fill the gap in the literature concerning educational and general ideologies of school leaders in relation to gender, academic degree and the number of in-serving training that school leaders have participated.

Can, Barboros 01 July 2010 (has links) (PDF)
The purpose of this study is to investigate the phases of change process of integrating a quality development model into an information technology company in Turkey. While the transformation phases were being examined by a qualitative study, the factors that affect the change process also were investigated. This study explores the process of traveling through the way to CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) level 3 certification by a company that gives information technologies service to banking sector. Since circulation of staff prevents us from obtaining what an exact number of workers, the company has about 450 employees. At the beginning, the company had no quality standards and most of the work processes were not documented, even documented processes were not consistent. After the commencement of the quality development project, work flows of processes were defined and documented. The company changed its organization according to the new process improvement model, called CMMI. In this case study, interviews performed with ten experts from inside of the company and three experts from outside of the company, observation diaries and assets of the company were data sources. Participant observation, questionnaire and document analysis were used as data gathering methods. Collected data were interpreted by descriptive analysis. As a result of the research, while resistance to change came out naturally, it is determined that transformation has four stages such as: &ldquo / motivation and adoption&rdquo / , &ldquo / adaptation&rdquo / , &ldquo / acceptance and implementation&rdquo / and finally &ldquo / use and improvement&rdquo / .
