I denna studie undersöks pedagogers erfarenheter och upplevelser av att arbeta med den afrikanska jättelandsnäckan i förskolan. Studien genomfördes med semistrukturerade intervjuer. Åtta pedagoger från tre olika förskolor som arbetat med afrikanska jättelandsnäckor deltog. Intervjufrågorna behandlade dels hur pedagogerna arbetat med afrikanska jättelandsnäckor i utbildningen, dels pedagogers upplevelser av hur afrikanska jättelandsnäckan bidrog till utbildningen, verksamheten och vilka utmaningar som fanns. Dessutom behandlade frågorna vilken roll den afrikanska jättelandsnäckan hade fått på förskolan.  Resultatet visade att pedagogerna arbetade på olika sätt med snäckan och att de upplevde att det fanns ett antal fördelar och nackdelar med att ha ett levande djur boende på förskolan och att snäckans roll varierade. Studiens slutsats indikerade att pedagogerna generellt sett hade en positiv syn på afrikansk jättelandsnäckans plats i förskolan men att det fanns aspekter som bör beaktas. / This study investigates educator’s experiences of working with the Africangiant land snail in preschool. The study was conducted with semi-structuredinterviews. Eight educators from three different preschools who worked withthe African giant land snail participated.The interview questions dealt partly with how the educators worked withAfrican giant land snails in the education. The questions also dealt with theeducators' experiences of how the African giant land snail contributed to theactivity and what challenges there are. Furthermore, the questions also dealtwith the role of the African giant land snail in preschool.The result shows that educators work in several different ways with the snailand that they experience that there are several advantages and disadvantagesto having live animals permanently in preschool and that the role of the snailvaries. The study’s conclusion indicates that educators generally have apositive view of the African land snails place in preschool but that there areaspects that should be considered.
