El sector de Tierra del Fuego delimitado por el río Chico, al norte; el río Grande, al sur; el límite internacional con Chile, al oeste y el meridiano de 68° oeste, al este, constituye una de las zonas semiáridas frías del sur argentino en las que los cambios ambientales ocurridos durante el Cuaternario y los procesos erosivos naturales y antrópicos han influido en la conformación del paisaje gemorfológico actual. El objetivo principal de la tesis es aportar conocimientos para comprender cómo dichos cambios ambientales y antrópicos afectaron la configuración del relieve. La tesis se estructura en cuatro partes. La primera introductoria plantea el objeto de estudio; las hipótesis que guían la investigación y la metodología aplicada. En la segunda parte, se describe el área de estudio. La tercera parte, desarrolla los resultados obtenidos y por último, la cuarta parte sintetiza las conclusiones. En relación con los resultados, el estudio geomorfológico permitió determinar los componentes, dinámica y evolución del paisaje. Además, se pudo comprobar que la acción del ganado ovino en interacción con los vientos dominantes del sector oeste-sudoeste son los principales agentes que, en la actualidad, modelan el paisaje. Mediante imágenes satelitales se estimó el grado de desarrollo y cobertura de la vegetación en laderas para evaluar el impacto del pastoreo ovino sobre la misma. / The Tierra del Fuego area delimited by the Chico river, to the N; the Grande river, to the S; the international limit, to the W, and the meridian the 68° W, to the E, constitutes one of the semiarid cold zones at south of Argentina, in which Quaternary environmental changes and natural and anthropic erosive processes have influenced in the conformation of the current geomorphological landscape and its modifications. The aim of this thesis is to provide knowledge to understand how those environmental and anthropic changes affected the relief configuration. The thesis it is conform by four parts. The first part containing the introduction, purpose of study, the hypothesis and methodology. The second, describes the study area. The third, shows the results. Finally, the quarter part present the conclusions. Geomorphological analysis allowed to identify both landscape elements, dynamic and evolution. Also, it was possible to determine how the interrelationship between the wind and the livestock sheep modify the landscape at present. Satellite images were applied to estimate the vegetation coverage in the slopes to evaluate the livestock sheep impact.
