Its purpose is to understand the process of preparing for retirement from retail executives and assisting in the proposals and public policies and private pension considering the subjectivity in these cases beyond the financial impact. The first chapter deals with the theme occupational roles through a brief explanation of concepts of occupational therapy and the instrument used. The second chapter introduces the central theme of research with reflections on the relationship between the Working Man and Aging, which addresses the concepts learned in Business Administration and Gerontology. The interviews are presented and commented in the third chapter based on selfreports of executives surveyed and possible strategies to prepare for the retirement of each. The results presented show us the important changing roles of the guy who retires and leads us to reflect on proposals for promotion of autonomy over the working life, daily balance and change corporate culture by pointing to the need for contact with the discussions on aging at work / Este trabalho aborda o tema Papéis Ocupacionais e Senioridade e para tal utiliza o Instrumento de Avaliação de Papéis Ocupacionais como estratégia de cercamento em entrevistas semi-estruturadas através de metodologia quanti qualitativa. Tem o objetivo de compreender o processo de preparação para aposentadoria de executivos do varejo e auxiliar nas propostas e políticas públicas e privadas de aposentadoria considerando a subjetividade nestes processos além do impacto financeiro. No primeiro capítulo é abordado o tema Papéis Ocupacionais, através de uma breve explanação sobre conceitos da Terapia Ocupacional e sobre o instrumento utilizado. O segundo capítulo apresenta o tema central da pesquisa com reflexões sobre a relação entre o Trabalho, o Homem e o Envelhecimento, onde são abordados conceitos aprendidos em Administração e Gerontologia. As Entrevistas são apresentadas e comentadas no terceiro capítulo com base nos auto-relatos dos executivos entrevistados e as possíveis estratégias de preparo para a aposentadoria de cada um deles. Os resultados apresentados nos mostram a importante mudança de papéis do sujeito que se aposenta e nos leva a refletir sobre propostas de promoção da autonomia ao longo da carreira profissional, equilíbrio do cotidiano e mudança de cultura organizacional apontando para a necessidade do contato com as discussões sobre o envelhecimento no trabalho

ASSESSING MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK STUDENTS' INTEREST IN GERONTOLOGY

This study was conducted to assess Masters of social Work students’ interest in gerontology. Students’ gerontological knowledge, attitude and experience with the aging population was examined to see if they have any influence on interest in working with older adults. The positivist worldview was used to identify students’ behavior toward older adults while checking to see if correlates to interest in working with that population. Survey questionnaire was used to collect information on student’s interest in working with older adults, their knowledge, attitude and experience. Modified versions of Palmore Facts on Aging Quiz (FAQ) and Kogan’s Attitude Toward Old People (KAOP) scales were used to collect information on students’ knowledge and attitude toward older adults. Additional questions about demographic data was included along with direct question on interest in working with the older adults. The results from the use of the quantitative approach allowed further statistical analysis using SPSS to identify relationships between the variables. The study found relationships between knowledge of aging and interest in aging-related work. The study recommends that future research examine factors that influence attitude and implementing gerontological education and training in social work programs to improve student’s interest in aging related work.

Miloslav Kaše, CSc., Selected Aspects of Pension Reform in the Czech Re- public, Doctoral Thesis, Charles University, Faculty of Law, Department of Labor Law and Social Security Law, Prague, 2020. Number of pages of doctoral thesis is 205. The dissertation topic evolves around certain selected aspects of the pension reform in the Czech Republic, which is the most discussed in the preparation phase of the Czech pension system reform. The chosen topic acknowledges the current problems of the Czech pension system, consisting mainly of the unfavorable development of demographic struc- ture and population aging, which is characterized by a large and irregular number of peaks and troughs on the demographic chart of the Czech Republic, connected to historical events and migration. The thesis focuses on the issue of developing and determining the retirement age and insurance coverage required for entitlement to pension and analyzes the pitfalls of increas- ing the retirement age and the length of insurance coverage required to qualify for a retirement pension. At the same time, it considers the possibilities of establishing an ad- justable retirement age range and flexibility of the whole pension system.
