This paper aims to examine what the differences is between the three application types, native, hybrid and web. The main focus will be placed on the web app and investigate whether it could be an alternative to native and hybrid app. To explain what a web app has the capacity to do, a web app is created in wordpress. Web development is moving forward, which is obviously positive. The problem may be, however, for companies that come from a completely different industry and who wish to develop a new web solution for their company. A native app can be a very expensive investment and it is far from all companies that can pay this. This study wants to find out if a web app, could be an alternative to the native app. Furthermore, the report will examine what the possibilities are for a web app and what existing web apps there is today. Furthermore, a simple price comparison between the different app types to be made. / Den här rapporten syftar till att undersöka vad skillnaden är mellan de tre applikationstyperna, native, hybrid och webb. Störst fokus kommer att placeras på webb appen och undersöka om denna skulle kunna vara ett alternativ till native och hybrid appen. För att redogöra vad en webb app har kapacitet att göra kommer en webb app att skapas i wordpress. Webbutvecklingen går framåt vilket självklart är positivt. Problemet som kan bli är dock för företag som kommer från en helt annan bransch och som önskar ta fram en ny webb-lösning för sitt företag. En native app kan vara en väldigt dyr investering och det är långt ifrån alla företag som kan betala detta. Denna undersökning vill reda ut om en webb app kan var ett alternativ till native appen. Vidare kommer rapporten undersöka vad det finns för möjligheter för en webb app och vad det finns för webb appar idag. Dessutom kommer en enklare prisjämförelse mellan de olika apptyperna att göras.

This cross platform mobile application can help students in this task. This mobile application will serve as platform for students and home owners to find, list and review a property. Users can create their personal account and manage their profile and properties they listed. They can post multiple property listings with the key details and these listings will be visible to all the other users.
To avoid spam and repetitive postings there is an address verification system in place. While posting a property listing the address is verified with Google maps database. If Google maps fail to identify the address or if that address is already listed, the user will not be allowed to list that property.
Users can see all the property listings and their details including a Google map location image, a link to navigate to the address, contact details of the owner, reviews of other users. Users can rate a property from 1(low) to 5(high) along with an optional review. The review and rating can help other user to select a desired place to live.
The user interface is developed with web technologies and using Cordova the same code can be used to convert it into a mobile application for both iOS and Android which makes this application platform independent and easily available.

Vision-augmented molecular dynamics simulation of nanoindentationAlsayegh, Rajab January 2016 (has links)
This thesis has contributed to the literature by providing a pathway to simplify the process of carrying out molecular dynamics simulation. As a part of the investigation, a user-friendly vision-augmented technique was developed to set up and carry out atomistic simulations using hand-gestures. The system is novel in its concept as it enables the user to directly manipulate the atomic structures on the screen, in 3D space using hand gestures, allowing the exploration and visualisation of molecular interactions at different relative conformations. The hand gestures are used to pick and place atoms on the screen allowing thereby the ease of preparing and carrying out molecular dynamics simulations in a more intuitive way. The end result is that users with limited expertise in developing molecular structures can now do so easily and intuitively by the use of body gestures to interact with the simulator to study the system in question. The proposed system was tested by performing parallel molecular dynamics simulations to study (i) crystal anisotropy of a diamond cubic substrate (crystalline silicon) using nanoindentation with a long-range (Screened bond order) Tersoff potential and (ii) crystal anisotropy of a body centre cubic metal (tantalum) using nanoindentation with an Embedded Atomic Method (EAM) type potential. The MD data was post-processed to reveal size effects observed in anisotropy of both these materials, namely, silicon and tantalum. The value of hardness and elastic modulus obtained from the MD data was found in accordance with what has been discovered previously by experiments, thereby validating the simulations. Based on this, it is anticipated that the proposed system will open up new horizons to the current methods on how an MD simulation is designed and executed.

These types ofapplications are called cross platform applications and can be developed with specic tools.One way to develop cross platform applications is by using HTML5, which can either beused as a web application or packed into native applications using plug-ins. The purpose ofthis thesis was to create a mobile web app that can save maps to be used oine. The workwas done by evaluating frameworks for web applications. Frameworks that provide userinterface elements and features similar to those in native applications, and libraries that render maps served by map servers. Development environments for web development were also tested and evaluated. The results of the research and development were documented experience, and a HTML5 application that shows a map, has GPS functionality and can beused oine.

Processing of Alzheimer's amyloid precursor protein in cultured cellsBowes, Simone January 1999 (has links)
The deposition in the brain of the 4 kDa beta-amyloid peptide (betaA4), from amyloid precursor protein (APP), is a key pathology in Alzheimer's disease (AD). The single APP gene is spliced to give 3 major isoforms. In the majority of body tissues, the most common APP isoforms are APP[751] and APP[770], which both contain a Kunitz protease inhibitor (KPI) domain, APP[695] is predominant in the brain. APP is processed through several pathways, not all of which lead to betaA4 production. Central nervous system (CNS) neurones in vivo secrete betaA4, which can be detected in the cerebrospinal fluid, though it is unknown why betaA4 is deposited in the brain in AD. NTera2 (NT2) cells derived from a human teratocarcinoma were used as a model of APP processing. Retinoic acid induces these cells to differentiate into a neuronal phenotype (NT2N cells), which has been shown to closely resemble immature human CNS neurones. Both cell types produce high levels of endogenous APP.Intracellular and secreted APP was studied in both cell types by means of western blotting and immunoprecipitation with a panel of antibodies. It was found that NT2 cells predominantly make and secrete KPI containing APP. NT2N cells make and secrete predominantly APP[695] though some KPI containing APP is also present. There is evidence that neurones in the AD brain are in a state of stress, which could increase levels of APP due to a heat shock promotor region in its gene. To investigate this, NT2 cells were subjected to a heat shock, which resulted in increased levels of heat shock protein (HSP) and APP. KPI containing APP predominated, but there was no corresponding increase in secreted APP. Both cell types were also serum deprived, which resulted in little effect on protein production in NT2 stem cells. However, the neuronal cells showed a small increase in intracellular, KPI-containing APP and in HSP. A reduction in overall APP secretion, and cessation of KPI secretion accompanied this. To further investigate the effects of shock on APP production, mRNA levels in control and serum deprived NT2 and NT2N cells were studied using in situ hybridisation. Control NT2 cells contain low levels of APP751, APP695 and HSP mRNA, with higher levels of APP[770] mRNA. After serum deprivation HSP, APP[751] and APP[770] mRNA levels all rose significantly, while APP[695] mRNA levels were unchanged. Control NT2N cells contained high levels of APP695 mRNA, lower levels of APP[751] mRNA, and very low levels of APP[770] and HSP mRNA. Serum deprivation resulted in unchanged levels of APP[695] and APP[770] mRNA, while APP[751] and HSP levels were increased. These findings indicate that cellular stress can result in increased levels of APP, specifically APP[751], in both neuronal and non-neuronal cells. Increased levels of this isoform have also been reported in AD. Hence cellular stress leads to an increase in an APP isoform implicated in AD, and could also provide an explanation for the increased levels of betaA4 in the disease.

This game is turn based in which players play against each other. The player capture the pieces of opponent and progresses diagonally, trying to become the winner by capturing all the pieces of opponent or blocking the opponent so that there is no legal moves left.
There are various features in the game. Instant messaging allows players to chat during the game.. Saved Games feature lets users to play the incomplete games later. Leaderboards and Scores make the game competitive as players can see their rankings and scores after the game.
Tournaments and Scheduling enables players to schedule matches. Tournament is scheduled with Round Robin process wherein each player plays with all other players in turn and finally winner is declared after end of the game.

Andresen / The aim of the project is to develop an Android application that lets its users to send notifications in case of an emergency or a panic situation. The users can send multiple text messages and emails on the press of a single button. The phone numbers, email ids and the contents of the text and email messages can be set from within the application. The text messages and emails sent, along with the content, also have the last known location of the user. This is very helpful in tracking the whereabouts of the person. The user can also call 911 directly from within the application, if the nature of the situation demands it.
Additionally the user of the application may allow the app to track their location. If this option is selected, the application fetches the device’s location at about every 15 minutes and stores it in a database. This information is very useful and can be used in a variety of ways. One such use of the location data is from within the Android app where the user can view a map that shows their location history over a period of time for a particular day.
