It divides itself into three chapters: The rethoric of Sermon, The archictecture of sixtieth Sermon and Vieira´ s oracle Art. It was pronounced at Lisbon Real Chapel, the sixtieth Sermon is considered an example preach. In it, Vieira confirms his missionary, visionary and politician functions. His subject is religious and dedicates to transmit the knowledge of faint and moving the wills, in order to the behaviours and options of life correspond the cristian doctrine. We found into sermon, conative, metal-linguistics and poetical functions of language, as well new syntaxes, combinations and articulations used for keeping attention from his listeners with intention to convert and conduct them the action / Esta dissertação tem por objetivo analisar o Sermão da sexagésima, explicitando os mecanismos da argumentação e da persuasão com base sobretudo em dois artifícios lingüísticos: a metáfora e a alegoria. Ela se divide em três capítulos: A retórica do sermão, A arquitetura do Sermão da sexagésima e A arte oratória de Vieira. Proferido na Capela Real de Lisboa, o Sermão da sexagésima é considerado um exemplo de pregação. Nele, Vieira confirma seu papel de missionário, visionário e político. Seu assunto é religioso e destina-se a transmitir os conhecimentos da fé e a mover as vontades, para que os comportamentos e opções de vida correspondam à doutrina cristã. Encontramos, neste sermão, as funções conativa, metalingüística e poética da linguagem, bem como novas sintaxes, combinações e articulações destinadas a prender a atenção dos ouvintes com a intenção de convertê-los e levá-los à ação
