Superfície do contato : fronteiras e espaçamentos / Surfaces of contact: borders and spacings

Silva, Mariana Silva da January 2005 (has links)
Surfaces of contact: borders and spacings a Visual Poetics research project in which theoretical investigation and artistic practice intersect. The group of works developed - point and hole (plumb); distant (electrical); span; fit; the meaning of the gesture; still; to fill a hole; watermark; tangent – raise the idea of contact as a situation of relation, meeting, interaction between determined surfaces (such as glass, the wall, fabric) and between the surface and space with reference to the surface of the epidermis as border and spacing. Questions concerning visual and tactile contact and their possibilities and superimpositions through the construction of the artistic gesture are approached. In this sense, there is a study of the procedures employed (the artist’s gesture, object, photography, video, artist’s book) and their conceptual implications in the development of the propositions here investigated.

Hernandez, Adriane January 2007 (has links)
From the bread toward the tablecloth: a poetic approach through prolongations), is the result of the research project in Visual Poetics developed for the last four years, 2003 to 2007. The works are photographs, objects and interventions that produce a movement of prolongation: extension of time and space, and expansion of the senses. In this way, the prolongation of the bread toward the tablecloth is also both a practical and theoretical prolongation. The bread and the tablecloth become authentic objects in a game, a game of construction and deconstruction of the experience that articulates ways of knowing the world. The text develops like a mobile and sliding cartography, a way to suspend the object in its process toward a constellational state of ideas, where points are linked together and try not to paralyze it in an exclusive, closed system of thought. The necessity to thwart discourse (weapon of power) becomes urgent in a disquieting and slipping search, one that tries to make the experience focus back at the center. This is why I have sought to make use of resources such as narrative and description in the attempt to return the discourse to an instance prior to that of artificiality.

Imagens do corte : desdobramentos operatórios em imagens impressas e projetadas

Rauscher, Beatriz Basile da Silva January 2005 (has links)
Images of the cut: operational unfoldings in projected and printed images is a research in Poetical Appearances, which brings a practical and theoretical reply to an investigation about the idea of cut circumscribed at the field of the Visual Arts. A set of works is called Images of the cut. They originate from tree photographs that had been found cut in the city of Uberlândia, in the state of Minas Gerais. They are images of the cut trunks top, numbered, extended, fragmented and presented in architectural spaces. The cut idea, being as an operational concept, establishes and reflects itself in several stages of this set of works’ production. During the period of the research, that is, from 2001 to 2004 five samples in institutional spaces had been conceived, presented and opened to the public. They divided in two production and presentation stages, each one introducing specific problems. The first stage congregates the samples with printed images; the second one congregates projected images. Previous and developed works in the period of the research are also considered inside the images of the cut’s set as long as they connect the expositions. This visual production is followed by a literal production, which brings the story of the occurred investigations in the interior of the process; the questions’ theoretical treatment, which establish the works and the unfoldings of the operational concept; the analyses of the works; the approach to the consolidated workmanships from other artists and the connections with the History of Art.
