Discute-se sob o campo da visualidade, esta forma de representação do homem e como ela conflui para questões que ultrapassam o formalismo estético e abarcam o modo de nos afirmarmos no mundo. É de interesse deste estudo a discussão para além do universo das poéticas visuais, entender como se dá a apropriação cotidiana do retrato. Sob o prisma da linguagem da fotografia, compreende-se que a partir do advento desse meio de produção de imagens, a maneira como enxergamos o mundo passou por profundas transformações. As bases teóricas residem nas reflexões de Walter Benjamin, Roland Barthes, Susan Sontag e Annateresa Fabris, além de outros autores que auxiliam em questões pontuais deste trabalho. A metodologia de pesquisa se pauta na investigação qualitativa com abordagem fenomenológica auxiliada por estudo teórico (bibliográfico e documental) e pela leitura visual (semiótica) das imagens que compõem esta pesquisa, em especial as imagens dos artistas paraenses Alexandre Sequeira, Cláudia Leão e Mariano Klautau Filho. / This study is a view at the portrait picture as a visual narrative which enables the reflection of the individual's representation of relationships and subjectivities. This man's form of representation and how it converges to issues that go beyond the aesthetic formalism and embrace the way we affirm in the world It is argued under the field of visuality.This paper discuss beyond the world of visual poetry, to understand how is the everyday appropriation of the portrait picture. From the perspective of the photography, it is understood that since the advent of this technique of production of images, the way we see the world has profound changed. The theoretical bases reside in the reflections of Walter Benjamin, Roland Barthes, Susan Sontag and Annateresa Fabris, and other authors that help in specific issues of this work. The research methodology is guided in qualitative research and the phenomenological approach aided by theoretical study (bibliographic and documentary) and the visual reading (semiotics) of the images of this research, particularly the images of Pará State artists Alexander Sequeira, Claudia Leão and Mariano Klautau Filho.
